If you could somehow steal Wolfgaards design. I talked to them years ago about letting my give them money to use thier design for the Sad Wings of Destiny helmet made out of steel by someone....they werent really keen on the idea though.

Weapons are very personal. Each person usually makes his own. Take Sir Vitus at his word & keep it. You need to practice with it & learn to use it well before going to much in depth with Greatsword. I know it is our consumer responsibility to report happenings like this. But isnt AB sort of a well established and respected company for low priced starter SCA armor? Isnt this kind of like a fly in a pint of Guiness story....its not going to ruin the entire drink, it just gets picked out and throw...

Who knows. You may have just caught them at a very stressful and bad time.

How much did you pay for the shields? AB isnt terribly expensive If I recall. So perhaps they have to slack on cs to assure you an inexpensive product!

Is it just for aluminium scales?
If I am building this it will be for a possible LH group, so I dont want to use something that is very not-period.

Though, I am not sure what they would be made out of? would mild work? Brass or bronze? what would Byzantine era lamellar scales be made from?

I have to say... I always heard not so nice things about the Clovenshield...and I was of the opinion to believe those who spoke ill of the Clovenshield. After viewing those pictures I know why people speak down of the Clovenshield.... They are insanly jealous of the Hotties in the Belly Dancing Suit...
