So Ill start this off before people start to rant about Helmets not having wings..... what period are you looking for? there is a website m that has an example of a phrygian helm that has wings on it. And there were 16th century tounrey helms that had wings ...

Cat, another question....


If I purchased a leather gorget could you attach the chain onto it?

The reason I asked abotu the covering the vertibrae and sternum is becuase those are the SCA regulations for a gorget for combat.

What time period would these have been worn in?

Does the collar part go down over the back to cover the first vertibrae and down the front to cover the sternum?

I don't think he was asking if it had ever been done, I think he was asking for more of an opinion...like what would you put on it if you had the chance to etch it. If it were me, I would etch a different verse of a prayer in latin on each plate...nice scrolling letters.... or I would do like a lion...

I was wondering if it is accuate at all? if so, what are they wearing over the tassets and faulds? it looks like they are fabric covered...or is it a form of tabbard? What could it be!?

Flittie, Thats a really good idea..but then your going to run into people voicing thier personal preferences.... there are armorers that some love...and that some cant stand. Illusion for one example. Half of the reviews you get from them are wonderful, and the other half think that they are a waste...
