Re: SCA PSA: Screw tabards; use a surcoat!

That's a great looking surcoat Scott! The only thing that would make it even better is a bit of tailoring around the shoulder area. If you look at the images, and the pics of them based of of Tashas pattern they all lat flat and tight along the shoulder line, and avoid the sort of square sandwich bo...

Ice is a good guy, and a GREAT businessman. But I can attest from experience that sometimes when guys start making stuff for you Your Grace, they make you thier priority and let those others fall behind. It is an extreame muscle tightness.
My wife thinks it may have been shin splints? I have never had them before, so I don't know what they feel like.
Could have been dehydration?

I think you are going to be hard pressed to find what you are looking for in the 15th century. But here are a couple of options where you might be able to hide it: http://armourinart.com/media/cache/original/89_large.jpg http://armourinart.com/media/cache/original/92_large.jpg http://armourinart.com...

Re: Looking for LEATHER-WORKER for CUSTOM WORK - LAMELLAR

Besides that, I sent a quick note to Kade at Kade's Workbench on FB. He does laser cut scales. He quoted me $400 for the chest and shoulders and another $50 for the bracers.

Which is a pretty good price. OUt of my discretionary limit at this time though. Good luck!

Re: Identifying the sword in this photo.

Probably just a trick of perspective, this is likely a classic Oakshott type XII or XIII blade. Edit: Which is not to say whether it is authentic or not. It might be just a cheap piece of metal made to look like a sword, but if I had to classify it based on this photo, I'd call it a XII or XIII. Fr...

Gunther, I truly believe that you and John are good guys. But I really think you should try to distance yourselves from Brand on a purely business aspect. Need the help of someone who can draw...

Specifically fashion design.

Specifically historical fashion design.

I have a couple of ideas for an SCA Viking persona, (used on history with the SCA flare that we all know and love :P) that I would like to get down on paper.
But I really can't draw.

Anybody willing to help?
