Wish I had the money to fight in Crown.
#1: You get better by playing a better opponent.

How do you attache your cop's to your cuisse's?
I have some RFTH Knee Cops and am making some hidden splinted gamboised cuisse's. I have gotten to the point of needing to attach the cops to the cuisses befroe I can figure out where the splints are to go and have thought of 2 options: #1 Lace them directly on through 2 holes in the top. #2 Rivet s...

You have have fought Duke Rolf when he had his mace, hav'ent you! Yes, a few times. I'd rather wrestle Gunther. Rolf inspires me to be that good with a Mace (I have a screwed up one badly based upon his design as mine is too heavy), and to not let him hit me with it (thus inspiring me to be better ...

Kevin Peregrynne AS IX . I found this, it's why we wear elbow cops on our shield arm. Being hit on the shield arm forearm w/o any protection sucks. I use to strap's crossed at a slight angle that can be tightened down over my gauntlet, I have another strap for my arm. That way I'm prepped if I lose...

For the most fun I go with mace (24 in long and very tip heavy) and my heater. Get in, start swinging and have fun. Most people think of it as a simple big club, but by shifting angles and using misdirection it can be surprisingly subtle. If I'm fighting for my Lady in Crown or Coronet I go with sw...

Period Dye question.
Me and my mom had an argument about whether Black was period for a dye or not (actually she said it wasn't available at all in Europe). I said that coal, charcoal, and crude oil were available. As well as Black sheep's wool. She said that wouldn't work for lots of Europe. So when and where does blac...

Are these for instructional or advertisional purposes? I was looking and it felt like some of the stuff we did in TKD at full speed, and without pads, for the Demo Team. I just say that due to them wearing little or no hand protection. I get still needing a mask, even for a co-ordinated thing, but I...

Well, for real historical accuracy, we'd have to armour like they did at Hastings, and then someone would have to die. Looks like we all have fun in different ways and they are all fun for different reasons.... And I wouldn't mind doing all of 'em. So where are these awesome folks located? -Ivan BTW...

Looking for name of Late Middle Ages weird weapon. (X-Post)
A friend was telling me about an Italian(?) weapon that was a quillioned, sword gripped, fluted or faceted, maybe twisted, bar with a point for thrusting. It would have been used on plate to crush, bludgeon and pierce using the same technique as a sword. What is it called and where are the photo's? ...

Simply put, most SCA fighters don't want to wear armour. Armour is heavy. After fighting in my mail shirt for a month I was AMAZED at my fitness when I put my sport harness back on. Armour is heavy. Fighting in real armour makes you tired. I wanna wear armour! I'm a big rus guy. If I could afford i...
