Now, if you did some fluting or repose' work on it... you would own the most

1st)Mea Culpa: I was the swinger of doom today.

2nd) Good idea! For that reason and many other it's a good idea.

In fact, my match was videoed today and I'm clean I think. I cannot see a reason my opponent should have been hurt, but angular momentum is a bitch.

Was it a tip shot? The one that did in our guy was a quick, low power, tip shot swung from a high guard (telegraphed for days) designed to probably draw a block or stop attack. The instructor thrust instead without using a covering attack. He was hit with a move he taught and didn't use the defense ...

What's in the water there in eastern europe that makes y'all so nifty wit the steel?

My only concern is the protection of the thumb when the hand is open, which can happen while shifting your grip.

One time years back my group did a weekend Demo in October and that weekend there was a cold snap and the high was 45'f. Instead of my regular gambeseon I wore 3 tunics, 2 of wool and one of cotton under my lamellar. It worked fine but it was warm (kinda the point that day), and very period for a 8t...

How are your hidden gamboised cuisses attached to a belt?

Like the topic asks. How do you do it. I've got a couple of idea's like putting in a loop at the top, using grommet holes, or using buckles, but what do you use? I've included a photo to show where I am. Next is cutting off the excess to match pattern, bias taping the edge, mounting the knee's, and ...

I use a bifurcated gauntlet on my right hand for cut and thrust. Think doing something like this in leather with Torvaldr's half-gauntlet for a base would work for moderate to heavy HEMA work? HEMA Gloves for the New Person For under $20 in materials

So this came up in class recently as a question that I couldn't really answer well. How would you build a pair of protective not-flagrantly-modern-looking gloves for nylon waster (and light contact wooden waster) combat for under $20 in materials? Again doesn't have to be real pretty but protective ...

And don't forget http://www.fabric-store.com for a great place to buy 100% flax linen for a real decent price.

I made my gambeseon of 2 layers of 5.3oz and one of 7.1oz linen and I love it, though I wear lamellar and not mail.

Here's a new take: I use a baskethilt so that I don't have to wear gloves. When I was 21 I tore all the gripping tendons in each arm and I find that, aside from yard work and riding a MC, wearing gloves cause's my grip to fail fairly quick if I need to have good control in my hands. I do OK with gau...

Period Training Protection Question for Fiore
