Your progressing pretty well. I would suggest putting a crease in your knee cops and lames as it helps to maintain the arch shape which is very important, especially for 14th century joints in which a crease is present...often on knee joints. The apex of the crease also helps structure the lames int...

Experience, and looking at enough detailed images of art when you know the context of the art leads to the conclusion. When you have known makers marlks on them, that usually cinches the deal. Well put, too true. ---- Some of the basic things I look for are the fan shape and the shape of the vambra...

This is an old method I once used...the upper and lower arm pieces were sewin into the cop...making for uncomfortable and awkward articulation: http://www.partsandtechnical.com/splintarms.jpg BELOW is new conceptual image should make more sense. The reason I suspect the cop and cuisse are not direct...

Yes I favor the dual evolutionary history....its more logical. Armour does not bed with other pieces of armour and thus have similar offspring 9 months later. Time, region, happenstance influence, whimsy, and necessity, and technological capacity and material availability all effect the evolution of...

Okay fellas....got to thinking about something the other day which I just remembered. Regarding this chaps knees. Many interpretations are a leather band behind the rim of the knee. And, based on most reconstructions.... somehow the cuisse is thus stiched in or pointed in to the knee...something lik...

Yup, saw it. No sale. He says they wouldn't have had any gold? Exodus 12:35, 36. You can beat pure gold unbelievably thin, no problem. They, as in the new one....the post 1350 one? Or both? ---- in different news...what ever happened to that fella who claimed he traed it in Jordan? I saw an article...

If I might interject here fellas.... Both sides are effective correct. Chef has a very valid point in that there really isnt any solid proof of splinted cuisses the likes of which we might assume are like typical sca versions. On the other hand, I suspect we are probably seeing horizontal splints ra...

I dunno Lorenzo....they look okay. Its his lames that need to be concave though, if he wants more flex.... And on that note, its really amazing how just a slight curve in the lame can achive greater arc range. ....that is, if you want the lames to be flush. And for what its worth Witch, Im working o...

I've been sick for a few days so I've not had chance to post back with a picture. Thanks for all the excellent advice. I'll post back soon, probably this evening.
