Good point.....we, as a whole, have a heightened awareness of these type of symbols. ....I would personally be wary of doing any type of demo or somehow, in some way be seen as representing general medievalism in a negative light. I mean, most of the folks here are generally educated, well versed, i...

Heres something to mull over... Im not in favor of burning the US flag...I think its morally wrong and I think those who do are carelessly overlooking those who fought for such freedeoms ....such as burning the flag. Yet I dont think it should be unconstitutional....I just think if someone does it, ...

The valnkot is carved into one of the planks (a seat iirc) of the oseberg ship. I dont find it near as 'intrusive' as other well know modern symbols As far the the swastika, it was used my native americans long before ol Adolph got a hold of it. IIRC it was a symbol for peace (ironicly) Yeah, its t...

Honestly Id leave it alone....dont do it. Unless you want to constantly write or explain disclaimers the contraversey will wind up being more hastle than its worth. Like the old southern stars and bars. I had southern (and northern) ancestors who fought on both sides....I can appreciate the colors f...

Or....if youre so inclined....you can rivit the thing solidly together. There would appear to be ample visual evidence for vertically rivetted cuirasses by early 1400s and well into at least the late 1420s....and given the Churbourg is roughly 1390 (close to 1400), your in an area that is still very...

Chris I dont disagree with what your saying. And I certainly dont think of you as my enemy What Im driving at is that there are many ways to skin a cat....and in this case...body casts, my experience has been that a thinly saturated piece can be just as effective and efficient as a spray in or brush...

Bondo cut with polyester resin, as I stated above, will give you a brushable material that reproduces good detail and is easier to deal with in enclosed molds than straight Bondo. Ive heard of this, never tried it. What is your ratio Gaston....or do you play with it until youre happy with the visco...

Here is what I would like to do: I would like to make lasts for forming leather armour on. These are traditionally made of wood - you can nail your leather onto the last so as you bake it it does not shrink. Can you make a body cast like you guys are doing but fill it with a material that can hold ...
