CHARLES VI LEG HARNESS (the breakdown pics)

I have about a dozen of the photos showing the leg armour taken apart....the cuisse, the cop rig, the greave and sabaton....and of the vamnbrace and gauntlet too. Where did these photos originate (who took them) and are there any more floating around somewhere....it seems as though there would be mo...

Well a bargrill is what it is....not period for all but late period tourney helms and a possible freak bargrill depiction in the 14th century....that is still debatable. The flesh look will only work if viewed straight on... a side shot will make it look odd. I suggest flat black as its easily lost ...

I suspect both variations existed. A sobbring but interesting thread. Dura, The problem with assuming the cuisse is thicker on average than helmets and breastplates is that it does not appear to be usually. This is a very contraversial question because we dont know for certain. We dont even know that much about the techniques that were employed. Visually all we really have are hammer marks on the inside of armour which suggest the types of hammers used (rather like a footprint in the snow). We also hav...

The other problem too is the issue of thickness vs. resistance. Its very hard to cut through something that moves when impacted. Was he moving at the time? Or Was he moving away from the blade at the time? Or Was he moving toward the blade at the time? In addition, there are cases in which cuisses w...

I dont buy the single hack theory. Or the full battlefield 'amputation hack.' This is a very plausible approach. Seems to me that if both legs were injured during the battle, and later infected, turned gangrenous, and needed to be amputated, it would probably officially go down as having lost his le...

At the widest point, head is about 24.25 around. There was ample room for padding in the helmet but its not oversized...has a nice period size to it.
