Personally I would go with fiberglass for an modern sca application that is highly complex like a hoplon or later period jousting shield.. Fiberglass if well layed in (especially with some of the better woven fabrics these days), is extremely tough and durable, especially with a covering like canvas...

Best bet is to save it for when you have something you need it for. Half my stakes don't get used they're the ones that were just built because I had stuff to build them from. Purpose built stakes get used a lot. On the other hand it would make a great anvil for a treadle hammer. Matt is absolutely...

Worth saying about online sources....You cant inspect the piece before buying it...so if its for a fine reproduction, there is that risk that you think your getting this flawless piece only to have it arrive and find blemishes in key areas. I like to see the rawhide up close. And I can only say that...

Pringles called, they're hiring. :)

The fun part begins working in very tight spaces for period size couters and polyens!

But at that curvature you can make the intersectional piece between the upper and lower parts of a early brigadine or corrizina.

So there are good workable patterns in Med. Tailors Assist. for a proper chaperon?

that is awesome. all for ~$250 Ah, well thats an initial estimate Sha ul. A lof of this is dependant on the resins we decide to go with. Some are hard enough to not need fiberglass, others need it. Im still trying to balance the time/labor cost witht the appropriate materials. What I can tell you i...

Hi Fulke You raise a really good question. I want to keep the cost down to a minium so Im not sure if it will be a super hard (yet not brittle) resin or fiberglassed with cloth.
