FOUND 2 MORE PERIOD BARGRILL SCENES !
Like many of you, Ive seen the tantalizing 'sitting knight' in the red jupon with what looks like an upright bargrill without the sides. I forget the reference off hand...maybe Christ and the sleeping guards or disciples. At any rate, I was watching a U-tube documentary on the history of fight schoo...

How far into the 15th century? Because as early as 1420 we start to see a wonderful assortment of breastplates, segmented, fluted etc....weird onion dome bascinet helmets and bean shaped proto-close helmets, and etc. We also see splint and studded armour as late as 1415-20 as well. Plenty of scales ...

Wow, that's great! Thanks David. ------------------ btw I forgot to add, that we are open to requests. If you have a favorite effigy or sculpture youd like to see us recreate, please let me know. We have also discussed the idea of doing larger pieces. Thought it could be seen as morbid, the idea of...

Norman: don't know which yushman you're referring to (though a leather yushman itself is interesting to me... real pity I can't read Russian)... this is the lashed/riveted lamellar finds from Verhniy Chiyurt. Dude, that last pic is way sweet. I've never seen any that go upwards like that. Is the 1351 on the pic the date, or just a pic number? Way cool. Christopher Hi Christopher. You mean with flutes? ...or the height of the piece? I think thats the date of the harness yes. Either way, yeah variation ab...

While I dont dismiss the benefits of paypal and escrow services, I run four businesses. Re: WTB Beginner's suit of armor
Hi, I'm new to the board, was referred here by the local SCA guys. I've been lurking around for a while learning as much as I can. I need to get my first set put together, but I know very little about metalwork and even less about leather. I would prefer leather armor, but I'm on a budget and would...

Here are various images showing a wide range in cop depth from "bubbles" to flatter shapes during the relative period in question....1320-1360:

Cop depth is an interesting topic. I think it draws attention to the issue of effigys for documentation. Who really knows if the carver made the cop as deep as it was in reality. Did the carver even see the real armor or did they base their carving off of drawings... What do we have for extant piec...

A nice try. But before wasting your time in making the flutes on them, try to dish them a bit deeper. Or better to raise them from outside. Happy hammering. Hi Jiri. Hmm, well, we were not copying that exact effigy image shown above....it was just the first example of this style of cop I could find...

Nice! Any idea on what the pricing is going to be on these, and what materials will you be offering them in? Hi Vasilii, These will be largely started in 14ga which ends up around 15-16 when finished. Pricing will range between 27 to 60, depending on the number of creases/flutes. These would run ar...

I also have FOUR-crease knees in stock if anyone wants pictures. I'd like to see pics... I got confused, and thought we had a four crease in stock...but here is a five crease from a work in progress image a few weeks back ( obviously not polished yet): http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/files/1...

Early 14th century Five Crease "Box Cops"
These are actually finished but I dont have a photo yet. Here was an in-progress snapshot for fun, though I apologize for the mottled coloration as they arent fully ground or polished. They are based on cops seen from about 1315 in southern Europe to about 1340 the father upstream you go in the cont...

Helmet Display Stand --cheap :)
A nice helmet display stand. Wood. Screws together. Could be stained darker for a warm rich affect to display a helmet. Has a threaded rod which can be used to attach something to sit your helmet atop. Honestly I just used a tall block of that green foam they stick fake flowers into....worked pretty...

TENT and/or BANNER FINALES
Used these on my pavilion before and they look great. I am making a custom cast finale which is why I dont need them anymore. My original idea was to cut out a cross or fleur de lis or some type of circle with a lion inside it...something like that. The spikes are more than thick enough for deep etc...
