FOUND 2 MORE PERIOD BARGRILL SCENES !

Like many of you, Ive seen the tantalizing 'sitting knight' in the red jupon with what looks like an upright bargrill without the sides. I forget the reference off hand...maybe Christ and the sleeping guards or disciples. At any rate, I was watching a U-tube documentary on the history of fight schoo...

How far into the 15th century? Because as early as 1420 we start to see a wonderful assortment of breastplates, segmented, fluted etc....weird onion dome bascinet helmets and bean shaped proto-close helmets, and etc. We also see splint and studded armour as late as 1415-20 as well. Plenty of scales ...

I received a partial concussion from a bolt driven into my skull....a bargrill hurriedly attached so I could jump in the fray. I blew off the spear shot at first but then realized how hard it had been when my helmet stuck to my forehead and I heard a "slurp" as the bolt was pulled out and ...

Question. There are several decent theories on how these knees attached...how did you attach yours? Looks like a simple strapping ordeal...am I missing something? Please post a pic or two if you dont mind.

Well there is something to be said for Victorian stuff.

Of all the periods of decor and design....it has a strong medieval flavor.

Nothing wrong with a relatively good copy if the price is palatable eh?

Re: WTB Beginner's suit of armor

Hi, I'm new to the board, was referred here by the local SCA guys. I've been lurking around for a while learning as much as I can. I need to get my first set put together, but I know very little about metalwork and even less about leather. I would prefer leather armor, but I'm on a budget and would...

Cop depth is an interesting topic. I think it draws attention to the issue of effigys for documentation. Who really knows if the carver made the cop as deep as it was in reality. Did the carver even see the real armor or did they base their carving off of drawings... What do we have for extant piec...

A nice try. But before wasting your time in making the flutes on them, try to dish them a bit deeper. Or better to raise them from outside. Happy hammering. Hi Jiri. Nice! Any idea on what the pricing is going to be on these, and what materials will you be offering them in? Hi Vasilii, These will be largely started in 14ga which ends up around 15-16 when finished. Pricing will range between 27 to 60, depending on the number of creases/flutes. These would run ar...

These are actually finished but I dont have a photo yet. Here was an in-progress snapshot for fun, though I apologize for the mottled coloration as they arent fully ground or polished. TENT and/or BANNER FINALES

Used these on my pavilion before and they look great. I am making a custom cast finale which is why I dont need them anymore. My original idea was to cut out a cross or fleur de lis or some type of circle with a lion inside it...something like that. The spikes are more than thick enough for deep etc...
