look for praetorian. A friend of mine down in Austin. TX has an SCA version (Centurion Lucius). But without the plume.

Here is one on ebay out of stainless.

Re: No more custom orders

A lot of people seem to be closing up lately. I wonder who can fill the void. :/ Im guessing armorers like Arm Street will fill the void. Where they can actually make money at it because the wages accross the pond are lower. Sad to see you go ... hope you find enjoyment in whatever you decided to do

Re: Ansteorra Crown

Nope ... and i dont think it will be. Traditionally Ansteorra does not require letters of intent (however the last few crowns have) and due to that tradition the entrants are not known until the morning of crown when you get to the site.

Re: Shamshir and other curved blades for SCA heavy?

Well ... when you curve they blade iand go for an authentic sword look ... wouldnt it only have 1 striking edge? A wrap the way i was taught hits with the back of the blade which would not have a striking edge on it and would technically be "flat".

Would VDK mind if I stole the idea for this tournament and held one here in Ansteorra? I will actually give credit to VDK for the idea for the tourney in all advertising for it. I really like the idea of this tournament and would love to promote more period kits in our part of the woods. :)

Re: opening shots

Drake's advice which Cathal repeated makes more sense in Ansteorra than it might in other locales. Tourney shields are bigger here, so legs are generally lower probability shots, and against a good opponent they require some set up. Drake is very, very quick. The simplicity of his decision tree con...

Dont waste any movements or energy. Every shot you throw should be intended to kill the other person if not blocked by them.
