My Knight is about to turn 43. I have been practicing with Duke Inman MacMoore who is 60 (And still hits hard and mo...

The SCA will have to adapt. Just like every other entity. I really think the Backyard BBQs w/ fighting is what is going to happen in the future. SCA inc will cease to exist eventually in this sue happy world. Someone will get hurt or drink some bad water and the SCA will go bye bye. It will get more...

the siloflex sword i used to have was aweful ... basically noone would call my shots cause the stick was so light. Ive gone up from inch and a quarter to inch and a half and have no problems with people calling the shots. I would suggest you work on your hand speed more instead of getting a lighter ...

it was a great cown list ... Sir Morgan and Sir Tristan went for almost 30 mins in the quarter finals when both were undefeated at that point. A true bout to remember. Everyone fought well and had a great time. Sir Keigan had only 2 shots land on him all day. And he is truely a great knight of the s...

Estrella War
Wow ... just wow. Just got back from estrella and id have to say it was some of the best and cleanest fighting ive ever seen in melee combat in the SCA. Everyone had a blast i saw the least amount of rhinoing I have ever seen on a war battlefield. I fought with the Company in Atenveldt and everyone ...

Everyone gets out of what they put into it. Im just happy to be able too play. Personally, I'm moving from an authentic kit to more of a sport kit with fabric covering everything except my helm and hands. I just like the feel over the modern equipment better when im fighting. ITs light weight and i ...

Re: English Armour
Ok, I changed my mind and i am wondering what type of armor a 12th century English Knight would use. From what i have seen i presume it to be a leather gambeson followed by chainmail and then a tabard. Please correct me if i am wrong and what type of helmet did they use. Kingdom of heaven ... thats...

My son is just beginning to be a fighter; last pratice he walked off the field, began to undo his armour, paused for a moment, looked up at me and said; "Hey, I didn't die today." I think I'll keep that moment in my heart. Mine is whenever i look over at my son on the ride home ... and i ask him .....

"Sir Stephan von Dresden- Simply the best sword and shiled fighter ever.." Philosophically 3 and 4 are the same shot. Realistically however, that tournament is called differently by everyone who participates in it. I have never been in a crown yet but I realize from the sidelines that noone wants to be eliminated from crown tourney by even a remotely questionable shot. Pe...

2: you got it there (proper angle, shot was open, etc) but didnt have enough sufficient force for me to call it. 3: I would call that blow in a tourney (shot was open, nothing blocked or skipped, had sufficient force) 4: I would call that in Crown I understand the distinction between 2 and 3. But i...
