I know for a fact that there are people I would refuse to fight. These being people I see as having no honor. Killing them would be more like killing bugs than men. I'm a warrior not the Orkin man.

Yes logan. Many people do cheat. Sometimes it's inadvertant, a lot of times it isnt. You cant fight for 20+ years in this game and not get at least an idea of when someone is blowing off shots. Not if you have more than a slight intelligence anyway. Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, right? Nissan ha...

I think consistency says an awful lot about someone in a case like this. Personally I've found that if someone takes shots in practise from me but ignores those same shots in a tournament I'd think they were cheating to win. But if it takes a certain shot all the time to kill them I'll be a lot more...

How long should i bake the leather, now i know that the bigger the longer but how to you know its done?" Wet leather is dark. Dry leather is light. As you bake check it every so often. Feel it with your fingers and guage the moisture. Try a few test pieces first so you dont f up something important....

I'm sure reality is NOTHING like that but i can pretend Lets see. Beer, yup. Usually penn pilsner or so...

Take your time and research. First find out what tools you're gonna need and where to get or make them. Then look at the piece you're trying to create. I've found that people look at things but dont really SEE them. Understand the curves by holding a gauntlet and understanding where it goes and why ...

Help with garb/armor please?

I am making a Char-aina breastplate. I've looked on the web but I suck so I found next to nothing about it. I found some great shots of the breastplate I wanna base mine off of so I'm good there. My question is what is the background behind it? What was the rest of the kit? What were the clothes tha...

Theres a big difference between someone saying 'look what I made for a wedding' and 'look at this perfectly authentic 15th century armor/garb whatever'
And we all know that all 15th century heavy metal bands of the period wore all black.

If you soak the leather real good then wrap the braid real tight you wont get near as much bulk. Even a spiral wrap would work for this sword. Not that it isnt cool as is, but you're right. THe leather would look better than tape.

As long as the SCA is ruled by fighters it will be ruled by fighting. Until those that cant fight band together and pool enough clout to edge the fighters out of supremacy.
