Carlysle, respectfully we're just gonna have to disagree. I find your attitude and those that share it to be beyond comprehension and completely without merit. And it profits me nothing to try and change that attitude. I think I'll do what I've always done and leave those of you playing your tight l...

You keep trotting this fallacy out every time the topic comes up, Animal. The only whining that's going on are the folks who are imposing madu on the rest of us. It's a complete and utter SCA-ism -- a fantasy construct without any medieval European or non-European noble cultural provenence -- just ...

It's a nice kit- but I wasn't commenting on it. I was commenting on your game . My game is remarkably historical in a lot of ways. I fight with a saber and a shield, or in big fights a spear or my bow. Pretty much what my portrayal woulda. I dont try and cut helmets in half with my saber, I cut for...

If you like to fight in a Mad Max, quasi-fantasyish game, which I'm sure you do, then anything you throw into the mix works. You can call it whining if you wish, but I *don't* enjoy the Mad Max, quasi-fantasyish aspects of SCA fighting. It's stupid. And Gay-like prison Lolita kind of Gay. Like wear...

It's my observation that for the most part SCA people like the same and lots more of it. Things like madus ride waves of disapproval back to waves of approval, and the SCA sheep folk parrot whatever the last sheep folk said and everyone is righteously offended and they're happy. If there's one thing...

I think that one of the best boffer makers in the world is Sebastian Kempins, from the archive. I did own two of his swords, but gave one to Animal to give to the Tuchux kids for what I call "rigorous product testing". I have not heard back yet. I like Sebastian's work. f Oh it's just fin...

Next hat will have the lining done right where you wont see any seams when you look inside. I'm also working on getting a pelt of something or other to line the next one with. This stuff is cool as hell!

Well, turns out that the brim wont need a stiffener after all. I assembled my first ever Mongol hat and it stands right up there like it's supposed to. Now I gotta hand stitch the finishing bits and get a picture of it. I've already seen how to improve the next ones so this is a blast!

When do you ditch humility?

First off, I realize your version of chivalry requires you to be humble and all that. I'm not talking about going around being a raging ass. I mean, when you assess yourself. At what point did you say to yourself "I'm good at this." for the first time? What happened that brought you to the...

What makes YOU a good fighter?

In travelling around and fighting people from other areas I've noticed that some things are emphasized in some places while ignored in others.
