Thats the problem with waxing leather. Once you do it you're pretty much screwed when it comes to color stuff, from my experience. Dye wont penetrate evenly, paint wont stick right. You're boned.

I'm no experst and I mean no offense, but your mongol helmet doesnt look right to me. I've never seen an example of lamellar covering the face like that. Also the dome looks wrong, and the nasal as well. Again, I'm not expert per se, but I look at a lot of pictures of this stuff and I've not seen pre...

my old judo coach used to tell us: "put the first opponent down hard, make sure everyone sees, get them hoping that you're not their next round fight." My dad taught me that. "Hit the big guy first" he always said "the rest of them will take a step back and decide they hear...

I love the precision of fighting. I try and be as surgical as I can be. But what I love about Tuchux fighting as opposed to sca is that when I feel like hauling off and kicking someone I can. Or a shield punch, or a throw, whatever. It's a FIGHT and it can be as fun as a fight and no one gets any mo...

Why yes! Yes I do! Lately, and for a reason I'm not sure exactly about, I've been getting pictures taken. And I am happier with my stuff than I have been in years. I just got new shoulders by my oh so talented son Kronos Weretiger (who you all know on the archive as... well, Kronos Weretiger) and ha...

That marshall should have expressed his opinion, given your guy the chance to reconsider the call, but if your guy...

I agree with Chef. Kilt = 1700's. I say wear the kilt, if that's what you like. You'll fit right in with the pirates, Tuchux and the vampires! But seriously, don't take it personally. I've switched out every piece of soft garb and armor I've ever owned atleast once. But I found a historical period ...

I realize the SCA has this all consuming passion to be all inclusive. I also know that this game isnt for everyone. if you cant bring a base level of maturity and respect you're gonna make everyone uncomfortable until someone just up and tells her to F off. Maybe fighting isnt for her.
