Yah, I got some good padding about an inch and a quarter wide. I'm gonna run it over both cutting edges and up over the tip. No worries.

Freiman it's not a spear like an SCA spear. It's the 'slashing spear' thingy. Picture a boar spear. By SCA parlance I guess it's a polearm.

Advice?

I got a spear head from By My Hand and i love it! His stuff is the BEST!. I'm about to mount it on the rattan but before I do I thought I'd ask if y'all had a good way to anchor it. I have gorilla glue or strapping tape, but I didnt know the best way. It's the slashing spear, with the lugs. Any help...

I use the fingers Clay made me on a gauntlet I put together. With my saber I cant tell you how nice it feels. Ditto on the sting part but so far so good. He makes nice fingers :)

From what I understand the nagamaki (long wrap) came about when they gave the front line soldiers swords with longer handles for better leverage. Sometime around the Mongol invasions if I recall correctly. I cant find where I read that but I seem to remember reading it somewhere.
