That's what I'm doing. The leg parts are separate from the foot parts. I'm turning the upper leg parts, then turning the lower foot parts then stitching them together. The uppers are thick leather, and tall so it's a bitch. I think I can do it though. Thanks Johann for taking the time. ANy other tip...

I have the first uppers stitched together and soaking now. Even wet I see this is gonna be a real chore. As for the wearing them dry part that's not the way these boots are formed. They're supposed to be real stiff. The cool thing is a friend of mine is making me the thick felt socks that go inside ...

Anyone ever turn a boot?
So I *FINALLY* got help and figured out the toe thing for the holy grail, er, I mean the boots I want. Gonna have welts, cool soles and the TURNED UP TOE! Yay!. Doing the lower part isnt gonna be hard at all. But turning the leg part looks to be a hot buttered bitch! Anyone ever do it? Are there any...

I love Mongol stuff. So i fight with a saber or mace, with a small center gripped round shield. Sometimes I use a spear. To be honest I care a lot more these days about looking like what I'm supposed to be than I do about being a hot stick. I love the fight, always have, always will. But because of ...

Just out of curiosity, how much success have you all had using a mace on the field? I know in period a mace would be a very effective weapon, but in our game with swords that can slice through "anything" why go for a weapon that is not going to give the clang that many people expect? Do you enjoy t...

There is a separation in the SCA. It pertains to a lot of things but in this case calibration. I noticed when I moved here that the 'big gins' need to be hit *JUST* so. The 'rank and file' types take a lot wider range of shots. I'm using this as a basis for my own calibration now. I've spoken to som...

Your armor doesnt kill me, your weapon does. Any 'advantage' you might think you gain by wearing less is in your mind and of no concern ...
