I also thought they still allowed thin shafts of much less than 1 1/4" for both crossbows and bows Steve. Am I mistaken about that? Maybe I misread the posts on that topic. If the arrows now conform to the same standards as other weapons, that eliminates one of my main objections to archery. By the ...

Any kingdom still allowing shafted arrows with a diameter less than 1 1/4" in diameter. If my sword blade and quillons have to be big enough not to fit through a grill or occularium, then in my opinion the arrows should have to meet the same requirements. Especially when they are flying around so fa...

Hi Tessa. I am one of those in favor of banning combat archery as unsafe, ahistorical in its current usage and in conflict with the SCA social structure that defines us as all being nobles acting in a knightly and chivalrous manner; as archery is historically not a weapon of the chivalry in the Euro...

Hmmm. 1) Ban combat archery or change it quite a bit. I lean towards banning it, since our social structure currently dictates that we are all nobles and combat archery is not appropriate for nobles and we are required to fight in a knightly and chivalrous manner (in the East at least) and CA is inh...

The main reason I don't like fiberglass spears, is that after spending a whole bunch of years learning to get past the tip without dying, when I grab the things the user often won't let go and I have broken or damaged a number of spears that way without meaning to. But my attitude about these is pre...

I have broken opponent's spears accidentally, never on purpose.

Breaking a spear on purpose is no different than purposely breaking a polearm on purpose. If you break someone elses property on purpose, it should result in ejection from the event or revocation of one's fighting card.
