I'd love to have that. The little cross cutouts match my cross patonce pretty well! But my head is more like 24 1/2" to 24 3/4" depending on how you measure it and I can't spend more that $450.00 max (daughter needs braces). So I'm passing the link on to a few friends who might be interest...

I've seen these at a lot of events. Is there any medieval basis for the design or is this strictly a modern chair?

No flail made it to Ducal Challenge today. Too bad, so sad. I wanted Konrad, Darius and Andreas to see them.

Re: Fun with Flails

Greetings all, Under direction of Master Padrig Earl Marshall of the East I have started making and testing flails based on the the rules set up by Ansteorra. We are playing with them at the Medieval Acadamy in Fall River on Friday nights. Initial results look good. Flails are period, are fun, and ...

I should have mentioned: I attach the pommel using a lag bolt that extendes substantially into the grip (using a predrilled hole to avoid splitting and after wrapping the grip), which adds a bit of balancing weight as well. The sword weights shown are generally in line with my experience (for real o...

These are the harness requirements so far. 1) Absolutely no Asscrack-Baker helms - While SCA legal, they don't look like anything medieval. 2) No exposed plastic (with one concession)- If you must wear it for whatever reason, cover it. I can tolerate certain kinds of plastic lamellar, but blue barr...

2 to 5 inches for an aluminum quillon & pommel set type SCA rattan bastard or long sword. Further out is OK if it is a maximum SCA length monster great sword. I think you've played with some of mine. If they get too tip heavy then they don't move well in an emergency with one hand or even with b...

4) No white sneakers or exposed white socks - One of my pet peeves in the SCA is crappy looking footgear. Looks like a lot of fun. Can't wait to talk to Jeff Wasson about it.

Was it really 100 degrees and was that why the poleaxe & sword combats were done with open visors?

What was the attendance (guests, not performers) like, given the hot weather?

Will this be an annual event do you think?
