Different kingdoms have different rules for youth combat. They may be able to fight with rattan in the west, but here in Atlantia, for example youth are limited to fighting with foam wrapped PVC until they are minimally 16 (and additional requirements must be met because they are not 18). I'm sure i...

I had a butted mild steel camail (14 ga, 3/8" inside diameter rings) and I had to fiddle with replacing rings every time I wore it to practice or an event.
I switched to a riveted aventail as soon as I had the money. I've never had a butted shirt.

I *REALLY* want to see what $1800 gauntlets look like. Ice used to have some $900 gaunts on his site. Most gauntlets are just mass produced to fit a hypthetical sized hand. Only a few armorers actually offer gauntlets in grouped sizes of S, M, L, much less ones that offer custom gauntlets to fit the...

That's called a "tinder tube". But his sounds more ornate with a hinged lid. They serve the purpose of char cloth (so they should technically be called "char tubes", but anyhow...they are less messy then carrying around a wad of char cloth (I keep my charcloth in a zip lock bag w...

The SCA rules say you have to wear an enclosed shoe, so no sandals (I know it seems like a silly regulation, but even a slipper will prevent minor abbrasions and grass cuts). I don't do viking or celt but that is excellent. I would add a bit of copper or brass trim along the seam edge to make it really pop. And stand back and watch while people fight over it.

WTB: loose 9mm SS flat riveted chain rings

I need to replace a few broken rings as well as do some in-fill on my helm's aventail. I need about 100 rings and rivets. Stainless, flat 9mm ring, domed rivets.
I don't want to purchase 5 lbs. of rings wen I need so few. Does anyone have spares to sell/trade?
