Having a 1.5" wide belt is fine for hanging a sword on. It's too thick for an ornamental/garment belt (one you hang your pouch/by-knife on). I think you just need to make the distinction of the buckle size. Because you can taper the last 16" to 2' of a belt to fit a belt chape. This one fr...

As for the dyes rubbing off easy, that is a concern. The hide that we start with is chrome tanned and dyed at the plant where it is cured. I think sealing it with nuetral shoe polish should readily solve the problem. I've tried dying chrome tanned leathers before with poor results. Like some Ritt d...

Here are a couple more linear rosaries I made with extra beads. Both are "twenties". The one on the left is of blue corals (11mm) and immitation pearls (12mm). The one on the right is; red coral (9mm) and blue coral (11mm) and immitation pearls (8mm). http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2321/24...

A bit of rosary bling

I made a rosary to hang from my belt. (Any 14th century Christian gentry would hardly be found without one, I bet). Due to sumptuary laws, it would have been the one piece of jewelry I could wear without getting into trouble for looking too flashy. Coral was a well known adornment for rosaries, whic...
