In addition to Duke Paul's material, see if you can get your hands on a copy of the Headlesse Household Fighting Manual. I would recommend Paul's general approach over William's, but William does have some very good specific drills.

Depends on the quality of the particular fabric and seam...can go either way.

Period fabrics tended to be woven on much narrower looms, so, in addition to fabric conservation, which was a concern, it was also necessary to build garments from smaller pieces simply because that's all there were.

Yes. His name was Pavel Yaroslavich. Don't remember the tourney or exact date, but would have been some time in '86 or '87. I also remember the first knight I beat in a tourney: Viscount Sir David Morgan, 4th round, Festival of San Ambrogio, May, 1988. That was the same day I beat my 2nd and 3rd kni...

Fumble around and waste kraft paper, muslin, or other such expendable materials, then cut your leather when you have a patter you're happy with.

There are different kinds of Vibram soles; I don't know which ones Bohemund uses, but Westland uses the cheapies (not that I fault them for this - that is their business model). Consider buying the soft-sole shoes and taking them to a local cobbler to add the Vibrams. Ask for the #100R or #100F, not...
