Many larger knife suppliers also cryogenically ... whatever their blades. Texas Knifemaker's Supply used to accept blades for cryogenic treatment from customers - I don't think they do anymore (it's not on the website) but they offer cryogenically treated blades for sale. More on topic - will loose ...

D - why not?

Is the square cross-section of the ring cause it to "bite" the clothing more than a round cross-section? Are the two maille shirts the same ring size?

Just curious.

From: m "1 inch rounded ( approx. .950 dia.) $ 35.00 per linear inch" The same website sells small slabs (2.35 inches wide or wider and 4.5 inches long) to make a knife handle (or gun grip) for up to $275. Inlay bits they sell for $0.88 a gram . That tusk is likely to be very expensive. G--

Not all strength is from being hard. Sometimes being just soft enough to flex but not so soft that it won't hold a shape is a fine art.

That said, How's Lyonsmarche doing these days? I left that area 7 years ago. Last time I met up with the group, Morgaina was letting us use her potter's wheels for a medieval pit firing.

Would you consider making a Byzantine coin, similar to #4 shown here?

Personally, I'd prefer silver, but pewter or copper would be cool too.

Be sure to check his sale pages, you can get some really inexpensive stuff when his barn is overflowing (often).
