Vinager works - it can be used straight for the quickest results. YOU NEED TO WATCH YOUR MAILLE WHEN YOU DO THIS. The zinc will come off, and the result will be a nice gray color. How many days were there in a year according to the Byzantine calender?

My books don't say, but I only have 3 books currently (that has GOT to change...).

Beef jerky is good (or venison if you can get a hold of it). Keeps well unrefrigerated (provided it isn't of the teryaki -spelled that wrong- pursuasion) and is period for a good part of Europe. Image

I dunno what one would be worth to make an offer. I have a 1 pound anvil that I use for my flat headed rivets, but it's a little hard on domed rivets (sorry for the lousy pun there)

This lego dude has a "Kettle-ish" helm that he came with. I can probably simulate a coif on that pretty easily - though I probably could make a greathelm, using a pencil eraser for the form Image
