Yeah, both these books are illustrated by Angus McBride. I thought the lamellar looked funny (didn't know why thought).

How Reliable are Osprey Books?

Rather, how reliable are the drawings in Osprey books?

I have 2 currently on the armies of the byzantine empire; different authors but with the same guy doing some of the sketches.

Are the images reliable to base armour off of, or should I ignore them and look to a different source?
