I was using this site - http://www.metalreference.com/Forms_Copper_Alloy.html since color is part of the long-term project.

Sideways butted galvanized metal maille. Chinese finger puzzle on your neck.
Not even gonna go into the welds (since I have not attempted such) or the helm design. Is the visor cock-eyed or is that the angle of the camera?

Get a good car wax, polish the armour, and throw in with the silica gel packs. You can buy them in bulk online.

Haven't gotten the material yet - looking at rods for the base material. Don't have the capability to cast right now.

Making my own rivets (am I crazy?)
I want to make my own bronze rivets - since they don't seem to be available commercially (not that I've found anyway). Brass is not my favorite - I like the generally darker color of bronzes. Specifically, I like the look of C510 (phosphor bronze). I'm planning on flat-head "tinner" style rivets, si...

You could always ask Norman (here on the archive) - he is/was the owner of the Silk Roads site - seems to me all the artwork he drew based on his research. Re: WTB: Dishing bowl (or dishing stump)
I have Llewellen's ductile dishing bowls (both sizes) - they work very well. I have never heard of anyone complain about Halberd's dishing ring either. Halberd's got his start dishing into a hole in the ground (he doesn't recommend it, but it worked for him for a project). Others dish onto a sandbag...

I'd go for the #3 (2 lbs 12 oz) or #4 (3 lbs 14 oz) for what you're doing.

Mallets for what?
I use a 2 pound dead blow for most forming (got it from an auto parts store).
Others use leather mallets (the metal-wrapped ones -- brettun's village sells 'em).
Is there something in particular you want to use the plastic mallet for?

I had a wood shop class in middle school - we also cast metal in oil sand.
I was mediocre at the wood. Some of the kids in class made one think they had been in the craft for a decade or two.

Re: Assembling Segmented Cuisses Assembly
Think it overlaps up or down? I'd be inclined to say the assembling would be similar to assembling a spaulder - with the top (hip area) being the top-most piece. So the part to the knee, then the next piece laid over, working up to the hip area. I doubt it needs to articulate, since the thigh bone i...

The Ring Lord uses C226 for his brass rings - says it's stronger than yellow brass. I've used cartridge brass for rings and it's pretty stout - but it isn't steel. The sheet of brass I have is from the welding section of a DIY store - no idea on the alloy - and it's 26 ga (I think) so it's purely de...

Jestyr - I look at it this way: Production volume. If they're all the same, you don't have to worry about "do I have enough of type x"? If he's slamming out 100 of them and they're all the same, it'll go faster (theoretically). Then he can produce 50 lobster tails to add on later as the customer ord...
