Hal, it's not about being able to bend over the ball or the pipe, it's creating the leverage to do so. A nut on the pipe or shaft creates the leverage.

The rubber mudflap material (can get stuff at auto-parts stores) works really well underneath metal dishing forms.
I use a dead-blow (until I can get the weighted rawhide hammers) - very minimal noise.

Or weld the block/nut TO the shank for the same purpose. Bend down, rather than torquing the shank in the tool holder.

It's made in India (describing the location of the helm) -- the seller indicates they're a manufacturer, so they probably made it themselves. It says "SCA" in the title and repeatedly in the description, but at 18 gauge, is not field-legal. Regarding SCA use, it's a pretty costume piece, nothing mor...
