Market for Ring belts
Ok, here goes. I have a potential commission for a ring belt, typical, probably 72" long. My hangup is that with only one commission, I'd pretty much have to buy the belt strap at retail cost. This essentialy reduces the work to a non-profit venture. I could, instead, buy a side of black tanned belt...

Ha! So I made it there after all, only it was a few weeks ahead of the armour-in. I visites Matt while I was on training in Toronto last week. He was a very gracious host considering this was very impromptu and last minute. I could only stay for a few hours before I had to drive back to To but while...

typical aviation shears are widely available at most hardware stores and can handle up to 18 ga mild for the lighter duty ones and upwards to 16ga mild for the W5 types, so I've heard. (I've also heard of people cutting 14ga mild with W5's with a piece of pipe slipped over the handle for extra lever...

Damn, I sure could use something like this at home. I have a few scabbards that are in need of stitching and doing it by hand is killer. Too bad I don't have 3g's available... Will you take my oldest son (well, step son) in exchange? He's not hard working, plays video games all day, loathes anything...

I have one more dishing form left to sell. A Oxygen cilinder bottom, 4" tall, shipped with a baseplate to weld onto and a first sanding pass to reveal the high and low spots. All that's left for you is to fill in the letter stamps, weld the base plate on and polish it up. 25$ plus shipping and it's ...

My first set of knees was articulated the following way. After determining the hole placement so that there would be no gaposis and enough mobility I inserted a small spacer between the cop and the lame then peined the rivet in place. Makes for a good articulation. Then again, it was my first try at...

I am asking 40.00 can$ for the form, including a baseplate, unwelded. The conversion would make that around 28$u.s. Shipping is of course not included and at your own cost. There are some stamped numbers in the dish that would need to be filled with a weld and ground with a flap wheel to smooth thin...

Small change of plans, after some observations it was decided not to cut the small acetilene tanks, the ones in the first 2 pictures. We couldn't properly flush out the cilinder with water due to some form of compound inside the tank. For fear of some gas residues we opted not to have a go at them w...

oxy tank dishing forms?
So Dragon and I are busy cutting and finishing some oxy tank bottoms to use as dishing forms, Is there interest in a small but deep dish, 4.5" x 1.5" with sharp curved walls? I have 2 of these and we're wondering if we'll even go through the trouble of cutting them off today. If there is a marked in...

Greetings fellow canucks, for those hungry for dishing forms I am happy to announce my find of 6 scrap tanks, 3 of which are the large 9", 1 is 7 1/4" and the other 2 are small acet. cilinders, 6 3/4" with an approx. 2" deep dish. Dragon is planning a trip tomorrow to help me cut, clean and weld bas...

Great work Galileo! Just a few questions for my inquisitive mind. What's the ring count at the brow and at the widest part of the mantle? Also, how many rows with no expansion at the brow? (just to give me an idea of sizing, i'll be presenting this to my group tomorrow in case someone is interested....

Hal, an 18 ga mild spangen of same proportions but not as tall would be great if you were willing to trade for it. I can't currently spend much money on armour but I need a lighter helm for parade. Hey Matt Sheena and I are planning a vacation to Montreal around the same date as your armour-in.
