Re: Who is going to Border Raids this year?
I am still planning on going but it looks like my new arm harness and gauntlets won't be making it. Still working on getting my old gear prepped and ready to go, everything should be good to go by Friday. I however am in way out of shape and sure to be dragging after the first couple of battle...

Re: New pieces of armour.
Sir Vitus, Do you find that the holes through the steel tend to cut the shoelaces? If not, do you have a good deburing technique? I have debured the holes in mine rather well but my elbows are thinner spring-steel and I loose a lace every 2 practices, usually at an inconvenient time. I have been de...

Re: New pieces of armour.
Looks great!
Is this your new stuff?
Are you wearing it to Border Raids?
Looks like none of my new armour or mail sleeves will be here in time.
I will however have spiffy new scabbards and belts for both my sword and dagger.

Unequal Concussion Reduction Helmet Padding?
Here is the EXO CRT Webpage Has anyone used this? I saw Lloyd mention this in his post on concussions and CTE. Sounds interesting. I like that you can cut it to shape and it is adhesive backed. Here is their How To Install pdf Also notice it is supplemental padding not designed to be used exclusive...

So, is there a concept behind Border Raids? Who fights who? Or do y'all just defend your moonshine shed? :D Meridies vs. Middle. We don't worry about our moonshine sheds. Re: Glaive question.
As I see it I can't simply omit the foam because the leather itself would be considered "rigid", correct? I think you are going to have to go with the 6' or less option. My understanding of the reasoning for the unpadded >6' rule is to reduce the weight, so your leather head wouldn't fit with that....

We were building it with inexpensive chrome tanned hide and the scrap 22 gauge stainless I was trying to get rid of before the next move. I noticed that a second layer of leather (making a more correct brigandine) would add much more bulk while avoiding the problem of the armour "catching" while pu...

I can't see you entire stake stand but it's legs look a little close together. Any risk of it tipping over? You might want to consider adding a cross bar in contact with the floor to prevent a surprise. I agree with Johann's comment and would like to add that the stand looks a bit tall as well. Som...

With regards to the pins, I used the same rod to bend the stock around to make the knuckles as I did to make the pins from (does that make any sense?).
