Re: Dr. Toby C. lecture
Mac, I am quite ignorant of the issues and expense involved but wonder if you, Jeff, & Toby have considered the possibility of printing posters of some of the illustrations you guys did from Armour of the English Knight 1400-50? I would think that there would be a pretty good market for these. For e...

Mac,
Thanks for the link.
Great lecture!
Made for a nice distraction ,while making mail sleeves ,during my off hours, in my hotel room, while on a business trip to China.
Edited to note: Yikes what an awkward sentence with all of those qualifying clauses.

I think the buckle point in the right direction to be able to strap the breastplate on with a single (right) hand, so my guess is that the strap run counterclockwise around the body. That is exactly my thought. Since there is only the one rivet, is it possible that the buckle has rotated 180 degree...

What is interesting to me here is the buckle. This may be common but this is the first time I have noticed it. It looks to me like the strap and buckle were mounted to a single point. I envision the leather belt anchored to the breastplate with the same rivet as the buckle. The belt would wrap all t...

Tom, Pierre has completed and submitted the final text for Thun Part II to the publisher. I made one of these for a customer a few months back. It was going to be worn over a mail shirt and under a solid breastplate. I attached it to a belt to be buckled in the back.
