My reign of terror is not complete. I had someone aske me to sing a song (that I've been singing for 12 years), and then said, "Could you sing it the way Bryce does?" No, Bryce is old skool here, the "good old days" stories actualy include him. It will be another ten years till I'm in the good old d...

OK that now that is funny. I was going to do it myself, but they say that darkness always hides his true identity. Ohh come on, the banner thing would be cool if people didn't get their tail in their crack about it. It would be awesome to get your peerage and unfurl your new banner ect, or to look o...

Avoid sheepskins from areas that have had outbreaks of exploding, flaming sheep and sheep crashes. I guess that rules out Austraila. <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/justus1199/287549959/" title="Photo Sharing"><img src="http://static.flickr.com/102/287549959_7d0016b8f6_o.jpg" width="355" heig...

Regular contact cement works very well for bonding leather to wood. Lanolin will have no effect on it once cured unless the sheep have been drinking naptha. Make sure the leather on the back of the wool is clean and free of oil and such before you apply the cement. Brush it on both surfaces, let it ...

Interestingly I just saw a Torque, Torse, open C shaped neck ring in the roman section of the Museum of Natural History. It looked very much like the Celtic Norse examples I've seen. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it! So did the torse makes it way to England with the Romans, or did they...

Now the question is where I'm going to store it...I'm building a game table for WHF and realized my 8' long 2x4 smacks the ceiling rather quickly when raising it up...(I'll see how tall my celing is when I get home this evening) I'm only 5'2" anyways (one short bugger...) so how long *should* it be...

It is a french copy of William de Tyre's Histories of Outremer Produced in the early-mid 1200's I've got more here: m I'm always looking for more manuscript illuminations, it seems the same ones get used in every book on midieval warfare, but there are many that are rarely seen. Like the bull that c...

I would imagine that it would simply slide off the back of your head. Constantly. It's not that back swept, It might put more weight on your brow than a standard norman, but the low back would keep it from tilting. I do wish there were more and better pictures of it though. It is not impossible tha...

Maybe, but there sure is a lot of blue in the Mac bible, my point being that it seems that artist pretty much had one way of doing something and stuck with it, the swords all look like they came from the same factory for example. Something I have noticed is that is often looks like some coifs don't ...

More topical, I can't tell the number of times I've seen 19th century military outfits in movies with half of the collars and jackets unbutoned to the chest. This certianly gives the hero that "swashbuckling charm" But almost all "formal" paintings of the soliders shows them fully buttoned, high col...

I'm looking forward to hearing your report, it would also be great if you could post some pics of the baton and what fighting does to it. Are you going to tape it? I guess by the nature of the material you wouldn't need to (it's not going to splinter) but running some strapping tape down the edges m...

Here is what that post would like like if you could see me. I guess I should have mentioned that I don't actually beleive in the accuracy of any metric chart for human variables. I finished basic at 210, (20lbs over where I was "supposed" to be) and I was really really thin, 20 pounds less and I would start to look like Christian Bale in 'The Machinist" I kn...
