Re: Who's on your dance card?

I've been known to be up for this type of thing. I must say that getting to fight Nissan at GW last year was a singular pleasure. One of those names that I had heard of here on the AA but never met. Had lots of fun with him. Something to consider about the people on your hit list is that they are of...

Artemisia Crown Tournament

Should be fun. This will be a pooled list to begin with to determine quarter finals. Best two out of three, single elimination for the rest of the list. Quarters/semis/finals will be matched weapons with the junior fighter choosing the weapons for the first and third fights. Weapons can not be repea...

I think that was a prediction rather than a result.

The list is scheduled for October 8th. Best of luck to all.

Re: Sport of Kings

The Grand Tournament was held Saturday afternoon. There were 90 fighters in the list. After a couple of preliminary rounds it got down to the Sweet Sixteen. From this point the list was single elimination, best 2 of 3 fights. The Sweet Sixteen was legendary. I couldn't quite remember all of them, bu...

Re: Critique/feedback/advice sought.

Your Highness, My apologies, I see that several other people have posted their critique publicly, as will I. I would agree with much of what was said by Sir Vitus, particularly regarding your equipment. It really looks like you are fighting against your armor as much as against your opponent. You ce...

Re: Critique/feedback/advice sought.

Duke Sean of An Tir gave a class this last weekend on analyzing fighting videos. He said to use a program that you can slow the fight frame by frame. This way you can really see the fight. I was shocked at how much is missed because the fights are so fast. I think your kit rocks. I'm still new to f...

Thank to Balin for letting me know. And to Felix for the kind words. I am more than willing to share what information I have with those who are interested in hearing it. I have always believed that if someone is willing to make it so that it doesn't cost me anything to teach, as a Knight I am obliga...

Throwing exactly the same shot, exactly the same way, thousands and thousands of time. If you try to throw fast, your body will never learn the correct mechanic for the shot you are trying to learn.

It's been said already, but it simply is muscle memory.

If that is the case, wouldn't that lead to a Fifth generation of Dukes in that line? I am under the understanding that HRM Edward the Senestre was squired to Dirk.

Interesting stuff.

I've got Duke Timmur and HRM Michael who is in his second reign. That makes three generations from Brion. If I'm not mistaken, Atenveldt also has: Duke Trelon of the Woods to Duke Mark von Nueman to Duke Erik von Stroud to Duke Aaron Graves. I am certain that some of the East coast Kingdoms have a s...

I have noticed that we do tend to armor less down here. It stands to reason, it gets godawefully hot down here. Also, one might think back to southern history. Dueling lasted longer down here than anywhere else in North America. As a result, good manners are still (on the whole) endemic to the Sout...

That would be Sir Gerston Heah Leah. He is one of the great examples I point to when someone is suffering from what I call Self-Imposed Ageism.
