there is something to be said for a culture of caring. we have a new guy. well he isn't really new, he is an Atenveldt guy who joined the army 3 years ago and hasnn't played since. Well now he is in Drachenwald... he went to his first event here, a non-fighting event. He still had a good time even t...

the thing here is that the under 300 or even under 250 is doable with a cohesive kit an NO HELP. With help from others... say a shire/canton/stronghold/Barony/household/concerned citizen it can be done for way way less with hand me downs. I think I have at least 3 complete kits and enough stuff layi...

Back this past December we were fighting at an event and I had my new knotwolf helm on and fighting melee. Well after a bit I decided to take it off ( I wasn't quite happy with the strapping ), well to get it off I removed my bazaband from my right arm to get up into the helmet, ran over, switched t...

I like to stab people and see snot bubbles come out of their noses. Its like those old style coffee percolaters. Thats how you know its done. Nissan, you and I need to have a good scrap at Pennsic and then a beer together. I think you and I could gain much benefit from both of those. regards Thorva...

Exposed Plastic?
So, more and more Kingdoms are coming to the light and Outlawing exposed/blatantly modern plastic. Often in vague written language refering to cover ups are ok as long as it looks like an attempt at pre-17th century. We in Drachenwald have a similar rule but I was/am just wondering at the possible i...

I will start the stir.... Not to long ago I was at a practice and we have a fairly newish young fighter who hits like a freight train. (he happens to be a smith) Thankfully I can block his shots but they certainly would be on the VERY stout side. I commented as such and got laughed at.... Everyone a...

I am sometimes of two minds on this topic. I like to give hard and take light in concept but Why are we engaged in Armoured Combat then? The purpose of armour is to protect us from shots that we can't/don't/partially block. So if the blow that actually hits us is inferior in power (technique is some...
