Interesting series of videos. I really like the slow motion break down. The only problem is that with out sound, it is sometimes difficult to tell when a shot was "good" since it appeared that they were just calling blows but not acting them out on arms and legs...? Also interesting style ...

We worked on alot of different fighting techniques and styles after he got back from Pennsic. His handling of our newbies was fantastik as...

I guess it averages to once a week. Practice on Wednesdays and events when I can on the weekend. Sometimes if it was a "strenous" event I might skip practice. Or like I did the Wed before crown I purposely didn't go so I could rest my joints.

Grimr,

maybe I'll talk him into making me a center grip one... more like my oval in usage that way but not offend the 14th century senses.

of course I could just continue to use my buckler.

Is there actual historical precedent for using a center grip heater or is that another SCAism?

William, Being as I don't fight with one ..... I don't know. You and I are of a like stature so I would guess one like yours would do.... If you are volunteering to make one of your wonderful shields I would be honored and happy to pay. It certainly doesn't need to be covered in tooled leather etc.....

A question, if I may; I notice two of the eight names given are for Viscounts; making 25% of the list those whose current high title are Viscount (as in, I don't know if Eorl Thorald was previously one.) 25% is a lot higher than most listings I see; I think the Ansteooran Crown lists seldom have mo...

That is an older picture of Duke Ivan, he wears welded titanium mail from Master Knut instead of just the tunic the last time I saw him about 2.5 years ago.
