He spent a lot of hat time with me helping me train for crown. I wouldn't have been any where near as effective without the time spent in his barn and courtyard. We worked on alot of different fighting techniques and styles after he got back from Pennsic. His handling of our newbies was fantastik as...

William, Being as I don't fight with one ..... I don't know. You and I are of a like stature so I would guess one like yours would do.... If you are volunteering to make one of your wonderful shields I would be honored and happy to pay. It certainly doesn't need to be covered in tooled leather etc.....

Thanks everyone for the well wishes; Leo; when do we get to see you again? No slipping off on Crusade without at least one appearance in our court! For everyone to know. Leo gifted me with a princely gift prior to crown tourney; which I only accepted under the condition that I would only accept it i...

A question, if I may; I notice two of the eight names given are for Viscounts; making 25% of the list those whose current high title are Viscount (as in, I don't know if Eorl Thorald was previously one.) 25% is a lot higher than most listings I see; I think the Ansteooran Crown lists seldom have mo...

With my Kite i tend to open the fight rather closed but tend to swing in and out of it during the course of the engagement. with my Oval I would guess you could call it somewhere in between but closer to open but will close it down.. so very much like Kilkenny said. Again though it all depends upon ...

I don't know that it is dickish, as you said that was the game you were used to playing. I might merely suggest that you look at it in a different way and set yourself on a more skillful type of game. Pretend that your armor would never actually protect you. Throw hard take light. Your skills will ...

William, all worthy goals that you have set for yourself.... I would that you would consider one already met: 2. To be deemed worthy of meeting on a field of battle by honorable warriors by simply putting yourself to the test you have achieved this. I would be honored to meet you upon any field if n...

Wow I had completely missed that he was in Drachenwald Colors...Did he fight in that garb..before winning the coronet, or is it basically Royal Fighting garb made for him after he won? Either way it's very cool. Just showed the pic to my wife (the costuming Laurel)...who said, and I quote, very nic...

2 Vikings having some fun
At the "Peace of Lissberg" an event in Drachenwald did I Eorl Thorvaldr Skegglauss and Lord Hakon Ulfs Son meet to settle long standing differences. It was rumored that my shipmate had undergone some unseemly actions and in bringing this to his attention did he give me certain words that w...

+Tasha I would absolutely never think less of an opponent if they wanted to fight to 3 blows or whatever. Pending the situation would depend upon whether I accepted or not. If they choose to concede the bout that is there business not mine. Especially in a tourney. You choose to participate in a tou...

the reason I'm checking that is simply that in my experience - fortunately not with swords weilded by opposing forces, but my own misspent youth of adrenaline junkie sports falling down mountains, is that relatively major shin damage can be ignored, to a greater or lesser extent, while muscle damag...

This is excellent for it's linearity - giving an orderly structure to our fighting vocabulary. I think many of us have worked out our own versions, in whole or in part, but we often misunderstand people from different 'schools'. I could have saved a lot of time in a class I taught a while ago, if I...
