So what is SCA excessive? I have never been hit with what I consider excesive. ...... I have been hit were I saw sparks in my vision. I have been hit where my ribs hurt for a week after but.... I HAVE NEVER BEEN HIT EXCESSIVE in my opinion. I want to know I was hit. If I have had enough I will leave...

I love the look, but I would ask why .... oh why did you add aluminium to a beutiful steel helm? You did that wonderful acid etch weathered look to the helm and then added that bright shiny aluminium drape. It just jars it a bit for me.

I agree with Adam about the dogpiling, I was just trying to show Beastman that he isn't the only one. Like I said the quality of the steel work on my gaunts is fine it is just the small stuff like having to restrap the articulation on the thumb and repairing the cuff that shouldn't have to be done o...

Gloving Gauntlets

I need some ideas on how to attach gloves to my clamshell gauntlets. Can I see some pics of how others have attached theirs? I have had them strapped and just inserting the gloved hand but I don't like how loose they are that way. The gauntlet always shifts around and then I get a nasty rivet driven...

A pic of the thumb articulation. (I had to do the strapping myself and it needs work as well)

I bought a pair of the clamshell gauntlets about 2 years ago with the brigandine cuff. IN MY OPINION I overpaid for the gauntlets. There is really no problem with the metalwork however the leather of the brigandine is too thin for SCA fighting IMO and tears easily. The articulation of the thumbs is ...

Sir Morgan, it sounds like a really cool format. The list mistress doesn't have to much of an issue since it is random pairings each round of whoever is left over. However you need a lot of Marshals. Here in Drachenwald that is often more of a problem than anything else. We are so small that the few...

I would venture to say because usually with aketon/gambeson on underneath mediums usually wind up too small. The larger one just hangs a bit longer on a slightly smaller guy and can be trimmed.

I always buy the big bag of chew chips. You can ussually see through the bag if they will be big enough. One bag is enough for a 28 in round. The chips are each about 4-5 inches long or so when they are dry and stretch once wet. YMMV
