Yeah, unfort, one of mine broke at Blackstone, luckily it wasnt a major deal, cause the bottom tang held it on the sword. Just sucked, cause it was my left hand stick, which I used at Blackstone, cause I didnt want to make a new sword, since I would doing that for crown a couple of weeks after. So t...

Actually its the reason I still use a shield, I have way to much fun with it, specially when I am taunting spearman on the other side to go for me, so my spearmen can gig em. :p Well that, and the fact, AEthelmearc has a tendency to be shield light in her army, and if I am going to bitch and moan ab...

What size padding do you think I could use if I have a 23" head. I like to use the open cell, I hate using close cell now after so many years using the open cell. Much more comfortable.

Seriously thinking about this, been thinking of doing another 13th cent kit, and this would be perfect.

Yep for everything except my shield, which is a small scutum, which they dont have any evidence for after 260AD, though gladiators still used them throughout the empire to when my personna is.

Funnest crown I have fought so far, was the last one I fought in, which was Fall 2008. We had 13 fighters, Crown decided to do Round Robin. Was a complete and total blast. They took the top 4, after everyone had fought each other, and semis was best 2 out of 3 and Finals was 3 out of 5. Easily met t...

I try to have my kit look reasonably well for what I am trying to portray. Currently, I am leaning more towards 265AD, due to I can use my scutum and it still be correct, where my 450AD personna, would really of not had it, and well i miss it. :p But my kit, isnt light at all. I actually took out mo...

Yeah, the arm span thing works in my favor also, compared to most. I'm 5'8" and can span a 31" shield. Granted I fight with a 30" scutum, but I could go to 31, pushing 32 if I really wanted to. I know guys who were taller than me that had to stick to 29" and below. :)

DA pretty much nailed it. I was taught, dont fight in Crown, unless you are planning on winning it, and can afford it.
