A long time ago, I actually had this question with my tkd master. He knew a bunch of us did this, and was curious about it. We brought him out to a couple of practices, and showed him how we trained for it and worked at it. Granted, coming from the Phillipines, he thought it was very interesting, an...

I'm planning on testing this at Coronation this weekend, when we are doing pickups and see how folks like it. Plus we are throwing it around for trying it at practice and making it a norm there. To be honest, I am fine with either, I have a decent record when fighting from my knees also, and well my...

You know, in all actuality, we already have this system in play. We just ignore it for legs. In a normal fight, if you hit an arm twice, its a kill. But if you hit a leg twice, the fight continues on, till you either take both arms also, or you get a kill shot in. Granted, hitting a legged opponent ...

Vitus, down in my neck of the woods in AEthelmearc, most of the two weapon fighters fight with two swords or sword and spear. I went up to Ice Dragon in the northern region of our kingdom, and looked like the things bred like rabbits. I even made a few comments to guys up there, that I was actually ...

I like the 1 kill shot, 3 wounded areas is a kill, and actually was talking to someone about it today before we go to practice tonight, and we might start playing with it at practice. I happen to be a good knee fighter, even when I wore steel knees, but I still would like to see it go away. But will...

Hmm, this is kind of one reason I dont order from any armorers or merchants, that I know go to the big wars in the SCA, between Feb and March and Middle of July thru August. Havent had anything happen bad, but anytime I have ordered during these time frames, my stuff is almost always later than what...

Here is a pic of my latest additions, and yeah I know I have been messing with this kit in the visigoth section also, as well as the Dal Riatta. But well it doesnt fit into the Dal Riatta, and though it does fit into the Visigoth/Ostrogoth look, well just not feeling it. I tried it last year, but I ...

No biggie, heck I tend to ban thrusting tips with my guys when I go down to their practice once a month, cause I got tired of going down there and seeing them rely on the damn things. I put one on my swords last year, cause I wanted to see what it was like. That was after fighting 20 years without o...

Mine are pretty simple, but not so accurate. Its pretty much in line with my handles on my centergrips. So centerline top and bottom of shield, the buckle is on the top strap, to make it easier to tighten and loosen while slung over shoulder. Here is a pic ursus took, while I was walking on the fiel...

Here is my dished round, I am going back to. I keep going back to my scutum, but well my conscience keeps getting the better of me, and making me go back to the round, cause its what I would of used. I want to edge it though, I was thinking of leather, but I just did my scutum with that, and it adde...

To be honest, the kit is more based off of 6th cent ostrogoth(495 - 525), right around time of Theodoric, right now. Thats where the helmet design came from. Rest of kit is just what would of been available at the time to him. The greaves and shoulders need to stay. For some unknown reason I get hit...

Kind of bumping this again, since I am bouncing between this and germanic, and not sure which way I am going with it. But hoping some of the guys who have dwelled on this and also the Pict posts, like Dalloch, can go at the the kit and let me know what to fix. I have a dished round, but well I suck ...

I use one of those Punching Bob bags. I pad the bottom post, so I can work on leg shots with it. I keep thinking of buying the version of it, that has the boxing trunks also, cause that would cover more of it, and I would only have to use a little padding after that. I'll adjust the height foe when ...

Just wanted to throw out a review on some of the latest stuff I have bought recently, pics below with the items also. Ebonwoulfe Armory - Excellent to deal with his Grace.
