A long time ago, I actually had this question with my tkd master. He knew a bunch of us did this, and was curious about it. We brought him out to a couple of practices, and showed him how we trained for it and worked at it. Granted, coming from the Phillipines, he thought it was very interesting, an...

I'm planning on testing this at Coronation this weekend, when we are doing pickups and see how folks like it. Plus we are throwing it around for trying it at practice and making it a norm there. To be honest, I am fine with either, I have a decent record when fighting from my knees also, and well my...

Eirik, I cant get to your store front from work, but how large are your polearm/great sword blanks, that are shaved. Granted also interested in the sword blanks, but just curious. And like Vitus, 1 1/2" dia would be awesome, and would save me a lot of trouble. Heck I have 3 of your oversized st...

You know, in all actuality, we already have this system in play. We just ignore it for legs. In a normal fight, if you hit an arm twice, its a kill. But if you hit a leg twice, the fight continues on, till you either take both arms also, or you get a kill shot in. Granted, hitting a legged opponent ...

Vitus, down in my neck of the woods in AEthelmearc, most of the two weapon fighters fight with two swords or sword and spear. I went up to Ice Dragon in the northern region of our kingdom, and looked like the things bred like rabbits. I even made a few comments to guys up there, that I was actually ...

I see your poin, Vitus, on three limbs taking a bit more time. But also think 2 limbs is to easy. Granted that might be because with being a shorter fighter, I tend to chop down the trees I fight, and hit more legs than normal. :)

I'm curious on those here who are either reading or responding to this topic are great weapon fighters and what they think of this?

Specially since in our current way of doing things, if they get an arm or a leg, they get a nice advantage over the single sword welding person they are fighting.

I like the 1 kill shot, 3 wounded areas is a kill, and actually was talking to someone about it today before we go to practice tonight, and we might start playing with it at practice. To be honest, the kit is more based off of 6th cent ostrogoth(495 - 525), right around time of Theodoric, right now. Thats where the helmet design came from. Rest of kit is just what would of been available at the time to him. The greaves and shoulders need to stay. For some unknown reason I get hit...

Lol, forgot this was orginally for Irish Dal Riatta. I am more concerned with Scot Dal Riatta now, and could've swore, that they ended up wearing a lot of what was available to the brits/anglo-saxons. maybe I am wrong on that.
