Ok, this is half joke, half real. But it is something I say to my friends who fight madu, so its not like I dont say it outloud. Ah Madu, the lazy mans two weapon Actually going to add something here. Though I really hate the weapon, there are a couple of people who fight with it, who are gods with ...

My thought on the guys reaction, is pretty much what his Grace Logan said. I think the guy got scared to hell, and just lashed out. Would not be the first time I have seen it happen, from a shot that you didnt see coming, and basically got the lizard brain overclocking. Plus, like the pictures shows...

Do those ground to Rattan, and are those ones that Whonew made? Not trying to bust a bubble, but main reason DarkHearts go for $800 is cause they ground to rattan and also are made of springsteel. CelticWarriors which were stainless or mild, were $400 or less, due to not grounding to rattan and were...

Question for those who wear chain coifs?
What if anything do you wear under them? Got my new helm, new stainless riveted coif and haubergeon from Icefalcon the last 2 days, and love them. But have never worn a coif before, just an aventail. After putting everything on, was interesting having it on my head, and well could envision taking a ...

He stated earlier, he would do a buy out of $800 which is what these cose, I had a pair, so I know. Plus people stopped bidding at what $675. If I hadnt just put down serious money with Icefalcon, on new helm, new blackened stainless coif and haubergeon, I probably would of did the buyout when he sa...

WTS - Torvaldr Black Gauntlets - sold
Bought these off Torvaldr from a charity auction, due to someone backing out on him. But I doubt I will ever use them. I have not even set the leather straps yet, so you can adjust them to how you need. According to Torvaldr, these are his large set. I am pretty sure I won the auction for $80, will ...

Unfort, I dont have a full copy of Matthew Paris Chronica, but have seen at least 2 instances of him drawing with some mounted knights with half or 3/4 sleeve. The other one I found, is Saladin taking the Cross from King Guy. A few of te knights had half sleeves. Also found a depection of David vs G...

Ok, was going over some books with paintings and drawings dating between 1200 and 1290, and came across one. Wish I had a scanner, but maybe a search on Google or something might show it. But the name of the drawing is named the Prisoners at Damascus in 1240, from the Chronica Majora, c1250. One of ...

Oh forgot, also looking at shield sizes. It looks like I could go with a cut off kite shield, but some of the books I have, show that heater sizes started coming into play also. Here is the pic of the helm I am going to be using. Been having a hard time, placing this in a certain time period, due to...

Late 12th/Early 13th Century Irish Knight - need help
Ok, in my post I have on first page, William Marshal Helm, the helm I posted, I am actually getting. Question I have is, I know by this time most chain hauberks were full sleeved with mittens, but could a possible Irish knight of the said period, get away with being a little poorer, or maybe chain i...

Well went with the topfhelm that I attached earlier in the post. Not going with aventail though and going with a coif. More like Richard I second seal. Now to finish out the rest of the kit. Need to look up typical shield sizes for between 1190 - 1250, where that helm I think would fit into. Would b...

Also, arent the Italo-Norman style helms, with the forward point and full face, dated around 1160. I could of swore thats what I had seen on those, which would possibly be something he could of wore or folks in those times wore. Hmm decisions, decisions. There is a nice Italo-Norman style front poin...

Yeah thats what I thought. Then again, I can always have my personna be someone who was inspired by the tales of The Marshal growing up as a small child. Specially since the bibliography of him was written shortly after his death. Just would then also need to change my crusader personna to that of t...

Yeah, I am also looking at between 1185-1187, which is supposedly the time he spent with the Templars in Syria. Main reason I am curious, is I am also trying to date the Topfhelm, like the ones Zweihammer sells in his kits, cause I was thinking of doing one of those, but I have a feeling those are e...

William Marshal Helm
Okay, been browsing the web trying to find what he might of been wearing during his tourney days.
Unfort, there is nothing of his helm on his effigy, or I would just go off that.
Anyone have any idea what he might of worn around that time. Looking at I believe 1165 to 1180 time period.
Thanks

You also have to look at who is saying it and when. Some of the talk you have probably heard is from maybe Pennsic. Though I am trying to think when I have seen anything bad said about them, as far as army was concerned. But at least at Pennsic, and dont quote me on numbers, but I doubt their army i...
