Yep, will be there and drop by and say hi.

Will be looking forward to folks taking advantage of me, trying to still learn to fight with my centergrip oval. :)

Yep, same, I liked all three of the movies also. But I also tend to go into movies knowing what they are. Just movies, and knowing Hollywood, will take creative license with anything. Come on, Tim. Its so easy to use this for another kit. Wear some Depends, a pseudo-corinthian, some greaves, and a b...

Yawn, sometimes folks really need to know what the hell they are talking about. Please, go read about the movie. They lay no claim that they are making a historical movie. The movie is based off Frank Millers comic book of the same name. He loosly bases it off of the battle, and thats where he leave...

Yeah, dealing with the hardwire issue myself. Luckily, its coming along a lot faster than I expected. First time fighting with a centergrip, was 3 weeks ago, and well kept getting hit, where I made blocks thinking I had a heater. But every week since then, been seeing leaps and bounds of improvement...

Yep allowed to do it now.

Had someone at the demo a month ago do this to a couple of folks, who forgot the rule had changed.

Once we let them know it was a legal technique now, they were fine with it, but yeah, freaked them out a bit. :)

That keeled scale looks sweet, Tangent. Very nice looking. Makes me think even more. :)

By the way, curious on what gage I would probably need to go to, if I wanted to do the keeled scale in stainless.

Thanks

Well the longest it would be, would be around 40", and thats from top of my shoulder, down to above my knee. Like I said, this is all hypothetical right now. I actually really like fighting in chain, its pretty nice. But I never envisioned myself in chain, always had thoughts of scale. I guess ...

Well, correct me if I am wrong someone. But to me, the difference is, that with Lamellar, all 4 points are secured, but scale, the bottom part is not.

Plus, what I am looking more into, is making a suit of lorica squamata. Which is basically scale, just the roman term for it.

Yeah, these started coming out, when I was buying my chain. And thought of all the pain it was to put my lamellar together. :) So went with the chain, but now that is a distant memory, I might be ready to do a scale shirt.

Looking for approximate # for scale plates

Hi folks, been itching this scratch I have had, since all of a sudden, a few folks have been offering scale plates lately. When I first decided to go to my 5th century romano-brit persona, I had always envisioned me in scale armor, as a kid. Granted, had no idea if it was right for the personna or n...

Thing is, there really is no wrong answer, just different points of views. If your opponent is going to be insulted, if you take a leg or arm, after you take thiers, they should say something. I know I ask any opponent, that if they take my arm or leg, and proceed to take their own, I ask them not t...

Nah, D'Antioche, I think he means this type. By the way, the new gauntlets have been working great. Have had to get used to the weight and all, and also a couple of rivet spots here and there. But my hands are finally getting used to them, and am finally after 2 fighter practices and a bear pit tour...

Be prepared to hear several different view points to this. My personal viewpoints are as follows. I dont give up an advantage I have won, fair and square. Pretty much like Gaston said. I look at it like I do wars. Have a good solid battle plan before contact, but be prepared to throw it all out the window once first contact is made, and after that, harness the chaos that just happened, and win the day. But I also have certain shots, that I will set up...

And D'Antioche, those flags...

Yep, I make mine the same way Logan does. Though I hate when I am done, since I have the taste of sawdust in my throat till I drink a bit.

Andrew and Malcolm like using the drawknife method though. But they are just simple cavemen, so I forgive them, when they are afraid of my magic items. :)

Yeah, looking at the elbows and knees, doesnt look like they wrap around enough to cover the points to the sides. Plus, though it might be light, it all looks a little to bulky.
