My kit progression thru the years
Well mine is not fully done yet. Still need to figure out what to paint on my shield, and will be getting a pair of Bohemonds Baltic boots in the mail soon, and will be getting a late roman style belt from Raymond on Wednesday. Also, need to make better pants, but for now, just have what I have, to ...

The marshal must be used to sports armor only then. Heck, I am not sure my sport armor kit, I could get in, in 7 min at the time. Now that I have a more real kit, it takes me a little bit more. Will time myself next time I fight. Still getting used to putting everything on, so wont time myself, till...

Ok, that better exlains it. Thanks. Yeah watching the hand was weird last night, though it did allow me to react a little faster I think. But just felt really weird, glad I was doing it wrong. I might already watch the weapon, or at least part of it. Will have to check it out Sunday at practice and ...

Was gonna send this as a private pm to ya Logan, but well figured others would like to know. Have heard you say, you watch folks sword hand when you fight. Could you elaborate on that if you would. Really curious, cause well with me having to totally relearn basicaly how to fight, I figured why not ...

Logan, some of the kingdoms have a rule, that you cant break the plain of their knees, while fighting them on the ground. Not sure which ones anymore. I know up here, it was bad form, but wasnt in the rules, so I ignored it. But have ran into it at pennsic off and on, when someone will ask me, while...

Plus, this board probably represents maybe 1% of the total amount of SCA folks that play the game. I applaud those who want to make the game look better, and I am doing my part also. The folks who tend to want to make others feel small and not as good as others, well for the most part, have probably...

Will make sure my guys know of this, and see if I can get some of their kits up to specs by Pennsic for this. Some needs lots of work, some are not that far off, if not already there. I will be there to help out if need be, and will be in armor to fight afterwords, for anyone that still has some fue...

Captain Jamie, this is what I am fighting in right now as far as stealth finger gauntlets. It is going to be an interesting transition. Different weight distribution, and the fact with finger gauntlets, at least this type, you cant put the fingers together, due to the metal. So having to relearn how...

Lol, yep, still love it. Wouldnt mind seeing some tweaks here and there, but those are just quibbles, and can live without them, and wont make my fun any less. On that note, was in armor the first time since Pennsic today. Nothing like changing every single piece of your armor, but your boots, and o...

Lol, actually I was thinking he was talking about plastic caps. Yeah, i wouldnt go for steel. Thing is, with out the padding, you wouldnt have to hit as hard for guys to take a thrust, and the thrusts would stick better. But I see the side were others wouldnt want to do it. I would be willing to be ...

Yep, said it back when folks got off on a tangent off some other topic, a few months ago, I could live with it. Granted, just starting to use a thrusting tip again, for the first time in I think 10 or so years. But one of the reasons I always hated using them before, was for what you have stated. Go...

I Wanna be a late 5th cent Irish/Scot Dal Riata
I Wanna be a late 5th cent Irish Dal Riata Looking for info, on what a warrior, more accuratly a warband leader of unit that has gone to the Scottish shores, during the possible time of Fergus Mor would of been wearing, as far as hard and soft kit. Currently, my personna, is of a romano-brit during ...

And if you really want to make Michael happy, turn your leg into it, get hit in the knee, say knee and smile at him. <whistes> Used to love to see that little look in his eyes, when Deryk and I would pull that on him. It always made for a special shot to come in next for us. Was either that, or when...

Dont mind redoing certain battles, have done a few. But we fought them out, and well sometimes history redid itself. Yeah sounds like a marshal that hasnt kept up with rules. I had a pair of Clays, but were a little small for me, so I felt a lot of stuff thru them, and bruised my thumb really bad from a hit while using them. Now I have a set from Darkheart, and they ground to the rattan, plus an enclosed thumb, so...

Ah that is true, and I should of been more clear. Its up to my guys, whether they want a truly period piece, or if they want a sports piece, but looks period. I have no problem with sports gear, but as I learned from one of my knights, if you wear it, I cant see it. I have that same rule for my guys...
