Will second what Saint-Sever said. I guess part of my acceptance of CA, is due to most of the folks I know, who do it, play it on a scale as Tim does, so its easier for me to accept them on the field as one of my comrades. But like Saint-Sever said also, the ones who are the ones who want to play De...

InsaneIrish and others who have mentioned this. It really for some does come down to just that. Its how you view what we do at battles. Do you view it as a grand melee or a war. Honestly, if I viewed it as a grand melee, I can positively say, I would be against any form of CA on the field. But since...

Here are my thoughts on this stuff. And actually no, I dont think its a dead horse, cause if it was, folks wouldnt be so passionate about it on both sides. I enjoy CA on the battlefield. I dont do it, and have actually only done it twice, once when I was 3 days old in the SCA, and Kane wanted me to ...

Please give my regards to Roland. Wish I could be there, but have a prior engagement, with an event my squires are holding that day.

But this is great news, and will let folks up here, who know him, know of this day.

Thanks

When I used to fight in a klapvisor, the first time I fought in it was hilarious. Was doing well, played my normal game, and legged the guy. Hmm, where did he go now. Basically, I used to say, I used the force. I had no idea where my oponnent where, when they went to their knees half the time, and j...

Yep, I think over the 18 years I have been fighting, I have seen 3 arm breaks, all forearm. Each time, was someone not wearing a vambrace, and also each time, their arm got in the way of a body shot coming in. One of the folks posts here that I know of. If I remember right, she wasnt wearing the vam...

To be honest, I love the SCA for what it is. Its a melting pot of cultures. I would like to see some rules gotten rid of, like wounds to arms and legs, and would rather see a counted blow system be the norm. Other than that, I am pretty happy. Only other thing I would like to see, is maybe kits bein...

Interesting question, and well will be honest. If it wasnt for the fighting, I probably would not be here. Granted, the SCA has lots more than the fighting to offer. The Society as a whole is outstanding, and everything that makes up the SCA, is fantastic. But what got me into doing this, and not go...

For me, I have always been a sporadic SCA player. Realized a few years ago why. When I first started playing SCA, I was ...

Same with our Crowns, Sir Brand. last few have averaged an even 16 usually.

Honestly, I like the bigger crowns, but not sure when I have fought in, or been at a crown here, that had more than 25. They usually are small lists.
