Re: Aethelmearc Spring Crown
Actually, my apologies, this post should be about the participants, and I have taken it away from that point. We can discuss Crown special rules and such on other post if we would like.
Once again, my apologies to the participants and the Majesties for taking away from the meaning of this post.

Re: Aethelmearc Spring Crown
Basically, put the top of your shield in your arm pit, stretch out and your fingertips need to reach to the other end of your shield. I'll show ya Tuesday or tomorrow, if your at practice. Its not that big of a deal, at least to me, I am just at this time, am refusing to play with those rules. I don...

Re: Aethelmearc Spring Crown
The spanning the shield thing. I understand the whole, I'm the Crown, its my rules, and I know several kingdoms have them off and on. Don't know, guess I just still hold to the school of, you bring your best, I bring mine, and lets see who wins. Wasnt a big deal, when I had the early period kit, or ...

Re: For Sale: Norman helms from Shamrock Armoury's New Partn
A good stock helm I would think Jackie, would also be the old trusty Bascinet with grill and maybe interchangable faceplate. Spangenhelms would also be a good stock. The Crusaders are just a good niche helm, but a lot of people really dont want to fight in the closed face. I've fought in them, and t...

Interesting list, will delve over it. Some names not on it I am surprised about, would of figured they would of fought.
Wish I could of thrown my name on it, but once again, the rules get me.

Re: Appropriate length for a Mantel...
Biggest things to try and be aware of, purely from an SCA fighting style wise, would be the following. Dont make the twisted wrap part so big, that it actually deadens blows to the head, have seen that way to many times. Also a trick I have seen a few people do, is find someway to attach the back dr...

Re: Atlantian Spring Crown
Yeah have fought a couple of Crowns working that type of schedule, it definitely bites. As long as work is good, you can keep your head in the game, but if work throws you a curve, it can really screw with your head and get in the way. Good luck

Re: Full Metal Jousting
Loved the finals, wish the 25k joust would of been better. Looked like Crispin kept moving towards the ropes before the hits, which might of been throwing the targeting off on both. Was expecting more from Rope on that Joust. But a win is a win. But was hoping for a rematch between Rope and Avery. O...

Went back to my first love.
I tried to get my first helm I made with Duke Bedfords help back, but I believe he uses it as his loaner helm for new squires and such. So went to Jackie to basically make one like it.

Review - Shamrock Armory
Got helm on Thursday, spent all weekend getting the padding right, then covering it all in velveteen and glued in. Fits like a glove, love it. 5 Stars all around. This is my 5th helm from Jackie in the past 5 years. :) Yeah I have a helm thing. :p This is probably the best fit out of all of em. But ...

Re: Appropriate length for a Mantel...
The ones I have seen in the past, that I have always liked, are ones that tend to go maybe 6 in. past the bottom of the helm when worn. It doesnt get in the way and looks nice. Granted, i came from Atlantia, so its what I normally saw there, so am biased.

Re: Duke Bedford Basket Hilts
Yeah other thing from the knockoffs, is the weight distribution is way off. The bars are wider out, making the basket want to drift when throwing shots. Mikes are close to the hand and the weight is right there also, so just feels like an extension of your hand. Logans baskets feel the same way, whi...

Re: WTS - Gambesson Cuisses (Therions Arms)
Scorpus, they are padded pretty well. Just according to the normal guys you fight on if its enough. The normal guys I fight, a pair of zoombang or equivalant was enough to feel good on hits. But I also fight a couple of guys that made me rethink that notion and I started wearing plastic behind them....

WTS - Gambesson Cuisses (Therions Arms)
Hi folks, going a different route so wont be using them. Wore these maybe 4 times I think. Selling for $30. They are XXL size cause I was going to wearing plastic underneath.
I like to deal with paypal.
They fit in a Large Flat rate box, so $12 shipping.
Thanks

Not your fault. Technically by Paypals rules, they are to keep up to date thier address. I havent used the new thing yet, mainly for this reason, which is why I also always ask whoever buys anything from me to send their address, cause I know not everyone keeps it up to date. Heck, I had that issue ...

Yeah that might get a little tight, specially if you wanted to add something under it. Right now one person has dibs on it, waiting to hear back. But when I get home tonight I will try it on again and see how loose it is on me and maybe come up with something to put on my head to make it to 24.5" an...

Lol thats how he is doing them now. Apparently, folks were wanting the option to customize the hole for the face to their liking. Why he changed from what he was doing last year, which was he cut a small hole, about maybe 3" by 3", not nearly big enough to be useful, but a starting point. I think Ey...
