Sold - Hjalmr Spangenhelm - $150(this includes shipping-US)
Hi folks, just bought this off Garreth, 2 days after I bought it, one of my best friends who I had sold my old flat top helm to, offered it back to me, since he knew I was looking to get another. So well dont need this one now. Just picked this up from post office and only thing I have done was take...

Re: new rules
I guess it's because I always fought with two elbows, regardless of shield or lack thereof, where I just don't understand what the issue is. Does it _really_ interefere with your fighting style that badly to have a low profile elbow behind your shield? (honest question). To answer your question, Ma...

Re: What is your inspiration for your device?
Had always had a wolf in my device, but had gone on a few different variations. Then while studing native american beliefs and going on my first vision quest high up in the appalachian mountains for 4 days, which going by yourself, isnt always the best idea. :p 3 wolves was something I came away wit...

Re: Critique my fighting - video on Facebook
Thing I see right off the bat, is your fighting all arm, and using your shoulders and hips and feet very little. Like Gunthar said also, your reaching with your shots so looks like your just out of your comfort range.
Granted, this is just watching a vid, but thats what I am seeing.

Re: Flat Top helm interest
Either way is fine, to be honest. I guess my question would be, which is easier. With the price you guys are looking at selling these at, I would go that route. Its probably either or, if I think about it. Either doing some rivets for the 2 halfs, but less clean up, or do welding and have the cleanup.

Re: Flat Top helm interest
I agree with Corby. Nose a little further out and top band a little thicker since its going to take the most abuse. My flattop I got from Shamrock was 12GA at top to take the abuse.
Price is very good.

Better to laugh than cry. Will keep an eye out for it on ebay, and heck will even keep an eye out for it on Craigslist here in pittsburgh. I know its a little bit of distance, but well its not that far and have seen it in the past.

Yeah like others have said, stay away from Performance. Have had a few friends buy stuff from them. 1. It took way longer than promised. 2. What was finally delivered after many months of harrassing them to give them updates, was basically built like crap and I would feel safe wearing the item.

Re: Aethelmearc Fall Crown
Honestly, only thing I care about with who wins this list, is that they keep the same War Command structure for this upcoming Pennsic. Other than that, they are all good folk and would do well on the throne. I always find it amazing, how so many kingdoms switch out Warlords for war season every year...

Dont count out Gabriel either. If I was a betting man, I would say the 4 Dukes in the semis, they are just a step above the rest, guess thats why they are Dukes, and Marcus showed what he could do last Crown. For dark horses, though really not that big of a stretch, would say Gabriel, Tindal and Mic...

Agmuntr, I am pretty sure it would fit you fine, specially if you use open cell foam like I have in it now. If you get it, if you would like, I can leave the padding I have in it to give you a feel or just to use, will leave the chinstrap setup also in it. As far as shipping, I am charging a flat $2...

Sold Pend - Roman Gladiator Provocateur Helm (SCA) Stainless
Hi folks, bought this at Pennsic from a friend who was going a different route. I thought it would be fun to go this route for a bit. But well to be honest, I'm stepping away from SCA for a bit. If I come back, it will be going in a different direction, so going to sell it to someone who will have a...

For my gladiator kit, I use a 32" with a thrusting tip. It took me years though to finally put one on my sword and actually this past year had taken them off. But just put one back on for the new kit.

My Provocator Gladiator Kit. Granted had to make some adjustments for SCA, and well not going to fight barechested. I still need to make the breastplate part, plus maybe a slightly different shield. Not much of a change, maybe just 20x30, instead of what it is right now, which is 18" at top and...

My favorite moment of the war, was giving up my Champion Spot to Duke Marcus, since this war season I have been doing shoulder rehab, so had barely been fighting other than pell work, and he had been fighting a lot this season. The Tuchux. They had a bunch of new dogs this year and from what I could tell their entire unit stayed together well hit hard, hit fast and kept moving. A couple of the new dogs it appeared to not understand some of the rules but they were quickly straitened out by the rest of the tribe Tuchux alwa...

I use the Punching Bob punching bag. I wish I had the one with the shorts though. I have it filled about half way with sand, so it has a nice rock to it, but still stays in place well.
