WTS Lamellar (plates by Eldesar.com) - Sold

Hi folks, I am going back to wearing chainmail, and well dont need this around not being used, when someone else could put it to use. I am selling this lamellar shirt for $350, and will only take paypal. It has been used for 2 years and is still in good condition. The shoulder straps and shoulder co...

Unfort, like others said, leaving stuff on the field past dark, is just asking for it. Battlefield is way to easy for someone not even at the event, to just walk by the tents and grab stuff left. But like Maeryk said, this has happened ever since I have been going, and that has been since Pennsic 19...

Unfort, its a common theme it seems, at least last couple of years. We lose a bunch of people, cause they wont fight in the woods, either of em. I havent got the official numbers for AEthelmearc yet, but i wouldnt be surprised if we were down by 50% for the woods battle. I know Midrealm took a hit a...

I liked em, and for me, fighting with Mid, and always was on our right hand side. I enjoyed the fact, that it really wasnt a bridge type scenario. Granted, there wasnt a lot of charging. Folks figured out quick, that for a 2 hour res, if they kept charging, they would have nothing left at the end. B...

Yeah, East Allies won the Allied Champ fight. Mid Unbelts won their figt and East Belts won their fight. I dont know how the other points are coming. Today was hot, but wasnt that bad. I got put out of the fight about midway thru, due to a polearm shot to the back of my knee and top of my left calf,...

Lol, that works out well then. With just the buttspike, mine is 47". :) I just wont put on the front spike, or maybe go down and cut it a little bit more, to keep it under 48".

Thanks

Rathbone Axe heads

Hi folks, need some help quick. Broke my polearm today during castle battle, so came home to make something new real fast. I had an old rathbone doubleheaded axehead laying around and decided I would just make a short polearm with it for now. But since weapon standards have to meet either Middle or ...

One of my fondest memories of the sca was a fight such as this. Granted, it wasnt a fight of honor, it was a fight for a woman. Me and a friend liked the same woman, and she liked both of us. We asked her, if she would agree to allow us to meet on the field of Pennsic for the right to be the only on...

Yeah the helm is actually based off the ostrogothic helm that was a gift to several kings, which is why it probably kind of rings that way to you. I just reveresed the brass, from being on the outside to being on the inside. Yeah I keep looking at it, and it doesnt scream 10th century, but with it b...

hmm, have left this up for a little over a week, and no thoughts on my helm passing for this time period or what I would need to do to it, to make it more to the time. Granted, its a bit germanic style spangen, but I am thinking it could pass as what a viking, though not sure I like that word, to ge...

Last week was one of the better weeks we have had in a month or so, temp was nice. So hoping it stays that way thru war week. If not, at least I have been running this summer, so the breathing thru the water and being active I will be slightly used to. :)

Thinking of moving my personna from romano-brit to hiberno-norse. Most of my kit I dont think would change, other than the shield, though if I do this I will be ditching the lamellar and picking up chain again. But I am curious what I will need to do to my helm. I actually think it would fit, lookin...

Graedwyn will probably answer later, but since I am in his area, and we had the same shirts for a time, I believe his is around 20pds. His might be a little lighter though, cause I believe he tailored his, but he is also taller than me. :)

So my guess would be 20pds, give or take a pound or two.

I have fought in Ice's as well as Von Sussen, both are I believe around 9mm. I also just got rid of a set from Ringmesh, which was 5mm. Ice and Von Sussens, worked fine as far as our sport goes, and to be honest I preferred it to how I wanted to take blows. The Ringmesh, is more looks than anything....

I also only wear a tunic under my lamellar, and have done so for years and have been fine. I also think, if thats what your going for, is if you are just going to wear it under a tunic, I would go with the smaller plates from plastic lamellar.com. I had an old set from them and it was fine, and my k...
