Ok, just tried on my really thick gamebeson, which put me at 51", and it layed fine, with room, it wasnt tight at all. So I am thinking 52" with a light gambeson or leather waist bracelet, would be fine and not constrict at all.

Aonghus, Let me see, I know the old rule of thumb for chain, was 7 to 10 inches from its torso circumference on the persons widest point. But I have a thick gamebeson laying arond here, that would probably easily make my waist to 52. I will throw it on and see how it feels. I am pretty sure it will ...

Sold pending payment SS Ringmesh Blackened Chainmail Hauberk

Bought this back in February, has seen some heavy use, and well it still looks brand new as the day I bought it. It is a 5mm short sleeved tunic, is their XL version, Stats are below for the XL version. I paid $467 due to it being the XL version and also blackened. I am wanting $300 and you pay ship...

WTS SCA SS German Sallet - Sold Pending Payment

Bought this off Iain at War Practice, I love it, but to be honest, I probably will never build a kit around it. I just like my current kit to much. So selling it off for what I paid for it last month, I havent worn it yet, but it is used. I would say fits 23.5 to 24.5 comfortably. I have 1" ope...

Pitbull, those look like Ringlords scales, what size are those made of, the large or the small. Have been thinking of making a scale shirt from them, and those look like the size I wanted to use.

Thanks

WTB - Cheap Stainless Norman Nasal for SCA

Will be looking for one here in the near future, for the Hastings battle at Pennsic, so will be looking for a stainless norman nasal, since well i hate mild and the upkeep, specially since this will be a third kit that rarely gets used.

Thanks

I need to look thru more of this, only read the first 2 pages and the last page, but bought an old Sallet off of Iain Ruadh from the Middle, and thinking of having this as a second personna. Great pics of various things. Just need to do more research before asking questions. :)

My normal advice doesnt really apply on this one. Its always recommended to do a search on an Armorers name or just someone selling something, to see if they have had past issues. WaynO, only had one other than this one, that I could find, while looking at his name. Though I didnt look up Thorson Ar...

Are those measurements on the breast and back correct. Seems very short in the front. I might be interested, but curious on the measurements, since I am 5'8" and a waist of 40" right now, though its shrinking. :p Also would probably be interested in the shoulders if I decided on this. Once...

I dont mind the questioning, I dont do it, but I dont mind it. I figured if you didnt take it, a million things between me throwing the shot and it finally hitting you went wrong, and its no biggie. Some good points have been made. Blackstone is a good example of what we do well. War Practice was a good example of what we dont do well. Blackstone this year, due to Midrealm, not bringing any big block units, was mainly a skirmish battle. if I remember right as far as numbers, we had around 110 e...

Looking at picking up armoring again

Well been thinking of this for awhile, and kind of decided i want to get back into making stuff on and off. Primarily for me, since I tend to like to do different kits, plus also to make stuff for my squires, men at arms and anyone that fights in my warband on a normal basis. Stuff I still have, var...
