No his spear or would be considered broken and would have to be reserected by the user stepping back for x anount of time... they themselves are not dead; they can pull another weapon or drop their shield down to thier side and contunue to fight if they didn't want to leave the line. Just a thought....

Pfffft... 90 degrees heat... I wish...

Try 105+ degrees in 90% humidity in 14th century kit.

I do wear a hot weather underarmor shirt under the gamby. Other than that it's drink lots of water and fight in short bouts.

And oh yeah... keep your helm in the shade when your not wearing it

Perhaps a rule in special melee events where if your spear takes 3 solid hits for THE SAME two handed weapon (great sword, bill, pole axe or whatever) the OWNER of the spear calls the spear broken and has to step back from the combat for 30 seconds or so to "get another spear"... same with...

Here's a 14th century style center grip I used... And, yes, that set-up on you center grip with the shield well forward of your hand will wear your wrist out quicker and allow your opponent to move your shield around more. The handle on my shield (thus my hand) is flush with the flat plain of my shi...

I love the brim desighn... Hell I like the whole hat... :D

The bar grill isn't too bad... the biggest problem I can see is the really long vertical bars not having any horizontal support in the lower face region.. They are going to get bent out of shape a bit as you fight.

Did you make the shell yourself or had some elese make it?

I like the decorative brass washers for two reasons. First they look cool, second they look like they will protect the leather from getting cut and torn out by the edges of the rivets (a problem I'm having with my ageing COP right now).

This is a very inspiring thread... I once posted a message asking if they ever had mail sabatons with metal covering the ends of the feet (toes); sort of a half and half design. I believe the answerers were rather indecisive. Perhaps we can add that to this tread (if you all don’t mind).

The only grappling I'd see us doing is grabbing the non weapons edged parts of weapons (hafts, shafts and stuff) and maybe the edges of shields. In my opinion we should stay away from grabbing body parts and throwing people to the ground.
