I would suggest painting it instead. Most places use the sunforger canvas and I am not sure if the dye would take well after the treatment, not to mention you might cause a nasty chemical reaction. I'm not sure what totally soaking the tent in water would do to the treatment either. You might ask th...

Ok this is what I found. The guy in the illustration I was thinking of had a kettle hat style helmet and what looked like a mail coif.
