Re: How to make a cloak? aka Holy crap it's cold

Living in South Florida, it never dawned on me that I would need a cloak for an event. But, as yesterday's 31 degree weather can attest (with rain), I in fact, *may* need a cloak for some upcoming events. Can someone show me some patterns and offer me tips for a cloak? My persona is early norman. M...

$60.00 Pole mounted OAK washstand and matching chandelier

I've got an oak pole mounted washstand that I made for a barter/trade that didn't end up happening. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r295/ConalOhAirt/DSCF2121.jpg it mounts on the pole like this one... and will fit a pole up to 4" wide if you change out the bolts for longer ones... http://i14...

What is the difference in the rod and these swords?

( in other words ... if the material is the same is it just that these
swords have too narrow a striking edge and that is why we are not
looking at them...? )

I just realized you have the bottem board attached to the cut out form. If you make these seperate pieces, it is easier to adjust the leather, and the top can be pressed down after you have the leather pressed in, if you need it at all. OK, I'll try that once this one breaks or next time i make a f...

radially split wood is very stable. MUCH more so than any sawn wood. I'm just looking at it from the point of view of a woodworker and I'm betting that while some small items were crafted from the start ( ie a tree) most were probably made from a stash of leftovers from other projects. I'm not sayin...
