your SCA home kingdom and your SCA persona

Do you include your SCA home kingdom in your persona's
story?

I'm considering it mostly to account for titles I have from
the Midrealm.....

Just curious what others think about the idea.

which was Norman controlled in 1300....

I guess I need to do more research to pinpoint 1350-1380

Short answer is no. You really need to read some Irish history. I may have a spare copy of a book to send you if I come across it. Ireland by this point in time is generally divided into 3 populations. Irish, Anglo-Irish and English. The King of England was the Lord of Ireland and as such almost ev...

SCA personna and name question

First let me say that there are no pirates or ninjas involved. I originally went with an Irish name and an earlier time frame. I like the name and really do not want to change it. The surname is based on my real surname and I'm proud of my Irish heritage and want to keep the Irish persona Now I'm fi...

If you only count events as days in your persona's year
you can age pretty slowly....

I originally was planning on 'aging' and going on crusade
when I was doing a later 11th century persona

Then I went to 14th century and just picked a time span
to shoot for ( 1350-1380 )

what about adding a "tang" strap from the cross guard to the pommel that would be inset into the grip? ( I'd carve a shallow rabbet into the rattan - see drawing ) That might help keep the rattan from twisting. I've got a rondel dagger made that way and I like it a lot. Wrapped in leather ...
