Small Wooden Box auction

I made this a while back just to see what it would look like and left it unfinished in the shop for a long time. I finally finished it... ( those are quarters sitting in front of it, I could not find a ruler.... and reflections of those quarters in the first picture) http://i147.photobucket.com/albu...

Once you have it the correct size glue it to some poster
board so that it is more durable and you can use it over
and over.

Spray adhesive is a good way to do that

The glue sticks that are for young children are
also good for this ( and less expensive )

I'm working on another pouch with some thinner leather.... I think I like the thicker stuff better.... ( for the main pouches not the pouchlets ) What thickness should I be using? ( and don't give me any of that "x" oz. nonsense that no one but experienced leather workers understands )

Because the top of the chest lid is as far as it is from the pivot center of the hinge you need to take that distance into account. The link allows that hinge to move with the lid. Without that 'sliding' joint on the metal hinge it would bind up and not allow the chest to be opened. http://i147.phot...

my guess is it's a odd hinge to supplement the wooden hinge.

I think the 'hook' is a staple that lets the link slide down when the
chest is opened
